This study examines the reasons for the commitment to change in the Archaeology curriculum at all levels of its curriculum, not based on preferences but on the basis of competency-based curriculum models. The undergraduate and postgraduate courses in this field have not been reviewed for more than thirty years, and the PhD curriculum has been the same since its beginning. Today, in the world, curricula are shifting to skill-based, and many elements are being considered in formulating these programs. This study, considering the skills defined for archaeological graduates in the US Occupational Information Network (O * NET) as an index of the content analysis of archaeological educational competence in Iran, examines the relevance of this. The chapters deal with the skills. Its main purpose is to emphasize the need to review these courses based on a competency-based curriculum approach. The collection of data required in this study is library and documentary, and the method of data processing is descriptive and explanatory.

Mohammad Khaqani Isfahani, in his book, has used this statistical stylistic function to study the Arabic language and extract high-frequency linguistic forms for use in educational programs. This article, while introducing and examining the form and content of this book, acknowledges that there is no need for the statistical study of Arabic language in the first place. Because of some reasons, classical Arabic has remained unchanged throughout history. On the other hand, using shortcut solutions such as “trust in experience and reading text”, “paying attention to the semantic functions of linguistic forms”, “browsing syntactic books such as Jammu al-Darrow and Qatari al-Wadi al-Sadi's description” and “Referrals that collect syntactic evidence” can be extracted from high-frequency linguistic forms, and necessarily, as the respected author asserts, using the statistical method of time stylization is not the only solution.

Analysis of Public policy is a new trend of public administration in prestigious universities that studies the role of analysts in formulating and implementing public policy and providing different styles of analysis. Policy analysis is a way to formulate and identify problems in order to search for possible solutions. For this purpose, the book Analysis of Public Policy: Concepts, Approaches, Models, and Processes, Tehran: University of Tehran Press. 2018. 272 p. ISBN 6-7092-03-964-978 has been selected and criticized. This research is of content analysis type and is applied in terms of critical implementation. In this regard, first, the creator and descriptive form and content of the work are introduced and then evaluated and analyzed in three dimensions of appearance, structure and content. The evaluation shows that this book, while having its own advantages and strengths, needs to be reviewed and corrected in the above three dimensions, especially the production of appropriate content with general policy analysis.

Social justice is one of the most widely used concepts in the social sciences and at the same time one of the most challenging. One end of the spectrum of theorizing is for the deniers and the other for the egalitarians. Although Von Hayek is considered as one of the steadfast deniers of justice, this view is not very accurate. The study of the cycles of intellectual life and the understanding of the theory of justice in the context of these cycles makes it clear that he should be considered as an institutionalist who emphasizes the importance of very abstract rules in governing free societies to solve the problem of harmony in economics. Distributive justice conflicts with such rules and leads to the creation of wealthy tribal communities because it causes inefficiency by failing to harmonize the economy. This method of theorizing has been neglected in many theories of justice, even in the most famous ones, because they do not pay much attention to the way people interact in society. At the same time, there are criticisms of this theory, including its lack of attention to the formation of interest groups in the economy, market failures, difficulty in recognizing fair rules of the game, and lack of attention to the negative impact of large inequalities on social order.

Islamic Political Philosophy in West published by Muhsin Rezvani (at 2014) is the first book written in Persian which is presenting a comprehensive report of contemporary and especially recent western research about Farabi and Islamic political philosophy. This paper through a critical scrutiny reveals a methodological ambivalence in formation of the ideas and organization of the book, in addition to an apolitical reading of political philosophy which cause various problems in categorizing western studies of Islamic political philosophy in four groups of Historical/ Interpretative/ Critical/ Descriptive approaches. Considering the conclusion part of the book, the implicit hidden layer of formation the book seems to be the theological-ideological concern of researcher to give an apology for “Islamic Philosophy” against what he considers as orientalist attacks. This hidden agenda of the book deviates its interpretation of Leo Strauss’s reading of Alfarabi and evaluation of other Western studies of Islamic political philosophy.

Since the academic works compiled with an Islamic approach in the field of social sciences are presented and introduced as a textbook in universities and scientific centers, their critiques are also vital to strengthen these works and remove ambiguities in texts and discover its capabilities and features. It will also lead to the production of social thought within the framework of Islamic thought. This article tries to critique and review the book History of Social Thought in Islam; From the Beginning to the Contemporary Period. Dr. Taghi Azadarmaki addresses the features and shortcomings of the book and also offers suggestions for its correction. The author, while evaluating the formal and accurate content of the work, has reached this conclusion. This work cannot meet the needs of the scientific community in the field of social thought in the framework of Islamic thought. There are also numerous editorial and content problems, the need to revise and rewrite and correct it. Referring to the formal and content shortcomings of the work does not mean ignoring the advantages and positive aspects of the work.

Jurisprudence and expediency are controversial issues that took place after the Islamic Revolution before the jurists and thinkers for practical reasons. In the 1979 constitution, legislation by Parliament was limited to the compatibility with the Islamic law and constitution, and thus the Guardian Council was determined for the maintenance of this state of affairs. In practice, Parliament had passed laws according to the expediency and necessity that were met with Guardian Council opposition, and during this period, there were tensions and impasses in the country. Expediency Council was created after instances of interference with the late leader of the revolution to solve such problems, for his initiative and according to his Command on 6 February 1988. This entity in the 1989 revision of the constitution has been a legal status.This paper reviews the fundamentals of jurisprudence expediency, the genesis of the Expediency Council, and the most important duty of this council.

The purpose of this article is to critically evaluate the book Critical Review of the Book Contemporary Research Methods in the Humanities (Discussions on Politics of Method), by Ahmad Mohammadpour. The context for the formation of the most important theoretical and practical streams in the humanities and their ontological and epistemological aspects has been presented in this book. From this point of view, the book can be considered as a valuable document in this field. The main message of this book is that it is research methods derived from our worldviews and lifeworld that shape our understanding and interpretation of the world, and thus the author introduces a new concept called" Politics of Method ". The results of the review of this book show that the author has not been able to convey well the key and operational points about “Politics of Method " and his new findings; Therefore, this book is not able to provide guidelines for researchers in designing a research program from the perspective of methodology. Lack of connection between chapters, different language in presenting views and topics, inadequate translation of many parts of the book, are also among the weaknesses of this book.

“Shohaz” is a collection of essays by Abdul Salam Bozorgzadeh, a cultural activist in Sistan and Baluchestan province of Iran. This book has been written with the aim of introducing the arts and customs of the people of this region and examining the limitations surrounding the development of this province. The distribution of the Baluch population, as a native ethnic group in Iran, is more in the southern part of the province. The people of these regions have unique cultural characteristics in areas such as clothing, music, celebrations, language, and customs. So far, little has been done to record issues related to Balochistan culture and art. “Shohaz” book is one of the books that has tried to introduce and record the culture and art of this region. The purpose of the present study, while briefly introducing this book, is to formally critique and analyze its content in a descriptive-analytical manner. The results show that the present book has been successful in providing information about Baluchi art and literature. Lack of logical coherence between essays, unclear target audience, grammatical and spelling mistakes, use of other people's content without citation and weak content are some of the drawbacks of the book. Nevertheless, the author's cultural concerns and efforts to introduce Balochistan are acknowledgeable.

The purpose of this article is to review and critique the book Strategic Management and Business Policy by Thomas L. Wheelen and J. David Hunger. In the process of critique and evaluation of this book, the criteria and indicators of critique are used in accordance with the model provided by the Council for the Study of Humanities Texts and books. In this regard, the formal and content dimensions of the book have been studied and criticized with an analytical approach. The technical characteristics of the work such as cover design, page layout, font type, are considered desirable and appropriate, at the same time, the quality of some tables and diagrams is undesirable. The results of evaluating the qualitative content of the book showed that some words need to be revised in translation. Due to the main goals of the book, it was not necessary to present topics in a separate chapter. On the other hand, some issues such as mission statement, vision, and practical tools in the process of analyzing the environment and formulating strategy have not been considered. Considering the strengths and weaknesses of the book, it can be said that the content of the book meets the scientific and practical needs of the country. So, scholars can use its content to increase knowledge related to strategic management.

As an original and traditional art in the Qajar era, the art of textile weaving has been of high importance. The book "The Art of Textile Weaving of the Qajar Era", written by Zohreh Rouhfar, addresses this art. The book has been published by Armanshahr Publications in 2012. Therefore, the present paper deals with the content and formal critique of the book. With an analytical view in her book, the author introduces different types of textiles of the Qajar era and mentions their characteristic features by classifying the fabrics. According to the content critique and analysis made by this paper, it is shown that the author adopts an analytical view in describing the works based on primary sources. Moreover, her academic approach to the systematic classification of different types of textiles makes the book a reliable research source in the field of art of the textile design industry. However, ignorance of some headlines and failure to provide sufficient documentation and persuasive analysis can be considered as the weaknesses of the book. Finally, weaknesses of the book, such as the lack of visual resources, the inclusion of black and white images at the end of the book, and flaws in the layout and editing of the content are discussed in the section on formal analysis and critique.

Investigation of the Literary Texts: Critical Approaches in Poetry and Narrative Texts is a work in literary criticism in which the authors try to present a practical criticism about some selected texts, which are mostly written by contemporary Arab authors and poets. This book, as a critical criticism, does not consist of a mere description of critical theories, but the criticism is executed on the text. In this book, there are some weaknesses that are considerable and should be criticized; moreover, these weaknesses are present in lots of books and articles written in literary criticism. Then, the so-mentioned book is criticized in this article in form and content. Lack of mention of equivalences of technical terms in Latin and lack of use of footnotes or misuse of it, and also lack of coherence in the structures of narrative selected texts are the most obvious problems in the form of book. Regarding the content of book, the most important criticism is the restriction of the concept of critical theories and misreading it. In addition, the presented approaches are without a coherent structure and method and are written according to an immediate impression. Samples of these two problems are seen in dispersed ideas and incoherent analyses, simplistic readings, presentation of obvious ideas and criticisms and lack of referring to important references.

The cultural identity of a society is influenced by many factors, including religion, customs, art, and especially architecture. Moreover, the practical aspect of architecture in human life has made it important in the formation of civilizations such as Islam. The objective appearance of this civilization in the form of valuable artistic structures is due to the knowledge and skill of prominent architects like Sinan. Therefore, to get acquainted with architects and their unique perspectives, studying of remain historical cited texts is considerable. Due to Sinan's special place in the development of Ottoman architecture, as well as Islamic architecture, exploring the texts related to him, especially what was said by Sinan, is fruitful. Regarding this article, the Persian translation of his two valuable treatises in the form of the book "Tezkiretü'l-Bünyan and Tezkiretü'l-Ebniye: Mimar Sinan Memories" has been reviewed. So, after presenting formic characteristics of the book, historical aspects of pre-modern architecture and architects of Islamic world, the life and works of Sinan, his Biography, his treatise’s introduction and finally a comparison between them and a similar text, Risale-yi Mimariye are discussed; Hence this comparison will be effective in better understanding the thoughts of the architects of that time, especially Sinan.

Negaresh and Virayesh is a valuable work of Ahmad Samii (Gilani) which has been a student book, and a resource for students k for many years in teaching writing and spelling. The numerous prints and a large number of reprints have proved it to be of great interest to readers and audiences. The book has two main parts: Writing and Editing, in which Samii Gilani has explained and argued as much as possible, citing evidence and arguments. The major errors and slips found in the first section (writing) of the work are: lack of introduction, section titles in sentence form, inconsistent paragraph organization, insertion and explanation of non-writing entries; research paper, reference, definition section. They do not seem appropriate to the writing effect. Editing section errors (mentioning linguistic errors) include: not giving sufficient reasons for enumerating linguistic errors (editing language), insisting on the contradiction of word spellings, separation in spelling contradicting spelling words with the Farsi script. This article seeks to cite as much as possible the evidence of the work. The research method of this paper is comparative, analytical, and critical, the evidence of which is gathered through documentary and invoice method.

“Philosophy of Superstitions” has been authored as a work of second-order knowledge and philosophical perspective concerning the conceptual explanation and identification of different types of superstition, causes of human tendency towards superstitions and the method of battle with this problem. The mode of discussion of Professor Yasrebi of this issue bespeaks of his deep concerns of superstition particularly in its social aspect, but the author in the chapters of this work, instead of strengthening the philosophical perspective of the outlines of this problem, after a short review of the basic notions, turns to the extensions. Meanwhile, the most important problem is concerned with the “definition of superstition”. The distinguishing feature of the superstition as compared to other beliefs, its failure of consistency with rational foundations and drawn logical rules. Without paying attention to different applications of “reas” and requirements of thinking, Yasrebi considers rationality to have a unique condition in all times and spaces. Thus, he does not tolerate the relativity of the extensions of superstition in different societies and ages. Unfortunately, side effects of this great mistake can be seen in his explanation of the causes of the tendency towards superstition and its cure.

Professor Robin W. Dennell is a well-known British archaeologist specialized in Asian Paleolithic studies. One of his books, entitled “The Paleolithic Settlement of Asia”, published by Cambridge University Press, is reviewed here. It is considered a skillful synthesis of archaeological, paleoanthropological, and paleoclimatological evidence of Early and Middle Pleistocene periods in Asia. The book comprises some important and rather innovative ideas about the subject which the author had been developing during his academic life; for instance, among them are the idea of the presence of an extensive grassland belt stretching from northeast Africa to east Asia during Early Pleistocene, which facilitated the dispersal of hominins out of Africa (Out of Africa I). Another novel hypothesis that is discussed in the book is the controversial idea that Asia could be considered where Homo erectus was originated. Apart from what is mentioned, a large part of the book is dedicated to the climatic fluctuations and the evolution and dispersal of hominins during Early-Middle Pleistocene periods. The evidence used in the book has been recovered from well-known archaeological sites containing hominin fossils and faunal remains, as well as from major maritime and continental sites within which paleoclimatic investigations have been conducted. The mentioned book is considered one of the pioneering attempts to modify the absolute Afrocentric view in Lower Paleolithic Archaeology.

The purpose of the present study was to evaluate the performance of the Council for Reviewing Books and Text in the Developing the Culture of critique of texts and books of the humanities, based on upstream documents of the council. Therefore, the combination method was used. The statistical population included all experts and reviewed books in council as well as other institutions and publications in the 1390s. The samples of the study were: I) Almost all articles and critiques, II) 24 experts and practitioners, and III) 10 interviews published in the book of the Re-Reading Council that were selected by purposeful sampling method. A checklist and a questionnaire were used to collect the data. The data were analyzed by chi-square and binomial tests, and qualitative content analysis. The research findings indicated that the council had received an acceptable grade in five criteria of six criteria and had a positive performance. Of course, there were some shortcomings in each of these criteria. Thus, some suggestions were made to improve and enhance the status of the council. It is recommended to redefine the scope of its members and take advantage of the advancements in information and communication technologies to disseminate and inform about the activities of the council.

A group of professors and philosophers have written a series of articles on the full range of Merleau-Ponty's philosophy, introducing the views of this French phenomenological philosopher, a philosopher who tried to overcome the dichotomies between consciousness and the world as well as consciousness and the body by emphasizing the bodily subject. They aim to acquaint academic and non-university audiences with his ideas. This work, which was published by Cambridge University Press in 2005 in the form of a collection of articles entitled The Cambridge Companion to Merleau-ponty, was translated by Ms. Hanieh Yaseri and published by Ghognoos Publications in Iran in 2012. In this article, we intended to critically examine the Persian translation of this work. Although the author has chosen a valid book for translation, the existence of many formal and content problems, such as not using uniform terms, non-observance of Persian grammar rules, and many inaccuracies, has made the translation of this work have not worthy of its original text and its content don’t understand properly.

Futures studies is a strategy and a proactive approach to manage, control, and deal with uncertainty to achieve a desirable future. Trying to visualize the future and eliminate undesirable scenarios are considered as smart approaches, so many documents, books and articles have been written in this regard. The book Megachange, The World in 2050 is one of these works that examines and illustrates the long-term future of the world in four main areas: social, political, economic, and science and technology. The present article, while reviewing the book based on the criteria of the critical research textbook and humanities programs, has tried to examine the validity of the present work in terms of method and approach. According to the evaluation, this work has a moderate quality and in order to improve the quality, it is necessary to seriously review the translation of the book. Since it has been about a decade since the book was published, the practical accuracy of its claims should be checked.

Karl Mannheim is a Hungarian-German sociologist and one of the leading figures in the sociology of knowledge during thirty decades of the twentieth century thirty centuries and at the same time with the rise of the National Socialist Party. He sees democracy not only as a political phenomenon but also as a prelude to the spread of democratic culture, as well as a consequence of a kind of social turmoil resulting from the displacement of classes and civic values replacing the traditional values of the bourgeois aristocracy. In this work, Mannheim tries to describe the process of transformation in sociological but abstract language. The book “Qajar Tilework” is a field study of this art medium dealing with the neglected status of Persian tiles during the relatively long reign of the Qajars in Persian culture and architecture. This book is a unique and pioneering study in terms of presenting various pictures under one categorization, and describing the visual and aesthetic features of Qajar tiles and monuments; yet facing with some deficiencies which have been identified and should be corrected for future publication. Mere consideration of the tiles which are only visible in remained historic buildings and complexes, and consequently ignoring the study of extant samples in the present, available collections and achieves; disregarding the whole field of inscriptions (tiles with calligraphic scripts); conceptual misunderstanding between motif and theme; and not using up-to-date sources, while leaving out some authoritative, original ones are among the major shortcomings and defects of the book.

So far, many books have been written about the poems and thoughts of Moulana Jalal Al-Din. Scholars and researchers have studied his books from different perspectives. One of the books published in this area is entitled “Moulana and Some Stories from Masnavi” by Sirous Shamisa. This study is a criticism of the book “Moulana and Some Stories from Masnavi” based on the mystic tradition of Moulana’s method. In the sections entitled “the biography of the followers of Moulana’s method”, “issues on mystic topics”, and “rhetorical issues”, “issues on interpretation, allegories and stories” and “issues on the thoughts of Moulana and the modern man”, the authors have analyzed and investigated the book and used the ideas of other researchers in the field in order to explain the issues better. This book has been written innovatively and has opened new doors to the studies of Moulana using modern modes in humanities. Despite all the positive points, some points that the book author has mentioned on the biography of Moulana, as well as the mystic topics, are in contradiction with the main sources of research on Moulana, the mystic tradition of Moulavi, and the ideas of other researchers in the field.

In the present study, the goals of art education in the content of the eighth-grade culture and art book have been studied. The goals of art education include art production, aesthetics, art criticism and art history. The use of these goals and their types are specified in different parts of the book. The main question that the authors seek to answer is; what are the goals of the art education used in the content of the eighth-grade culture and art book? This research is a descriptive and survey type that has been done with a questionnaire using a simple random sampling method among 54 art teachers in Shiraz. The findings have been analyzed quantitatively. The findings of this study show that the goals of art education in the total content of the book are moderate and the design chapter has the most application compared to other chapters of the book. "History of art" as one of the goals of art education in the design chapter and the purpose of "art production" in the chapter of illustration, photography and calligraphy have been most used. According to art experts, the most important goal of art education is to cultivate creativity.

Public administration studies governments, government institutions, and structures, as well as the actions of individuals in the public sector. Numerous books have been written and translated in the field of public administration. Few of these books have gained legitimacy and acceptance among readers. The book Managerial Movements in Public Sector by Dr. Hasan Danaeefard is one of the most comprehensive books written in the field of public administration and therefore has been considered as a textbook for teaching in public administration courses and the main source of study for the graduate entrance exam for recent years. In this article, the attempt was to review the book in a descriptive-analytical manner, by mentioning the evidence and documents. The book was critiqued from four dimensions: formal, structure, writing and content. According to this, on one hand, the main strengths of the book are the use of credible sources, comprehensiveness and up-to-datedness of the content, accurate citation method, and use of practical examples. On the other hand, this book has also some drawbacks, the most important of which are lack of observance of writing symbols, inconsistency of some sentences, lack of image quality of the cover design and its incompatibility with the subject of the book and lack of structural and content coherence in some sentences.Keywords:
