The dynamism of any science depends on fair criticism of the published works in that field. Undoubtedly, writing and publishing a new work in any field is greatly concerned with the review of previously published works as well as evaluation of their strengths and weaknesses. Such evaluations help to publish new books with less deficiencies and more creativity. The Institute for Humanities and Cultural Studies is one of the Iranian official organizations responsible for reviewing educational and course textbooks inhumanities by its expert academic reviewers. The Institute accomplishes this task through the Iranian Council for Reviewing Books and Texts on Human Sciences. In economics, management and accounting majors, “Money, Currency and Banking” is an obligatory course in both undergraduate and postgraduate programs. Applying the indices set by the Iranian Council for Reviewing Books as well as the reviews done by the reviewers, the present paper aims to study both content and form of 15 published books in the field of money, currency and banking both individually and collectively by using the content analysis method. The results indicate that most of the reviewed books are graded between 3 to 3.99 out of 5 in terms of both form and content.

One of the major sources of psychology in the field of teaching English as foreign language in Iranian universities is a book named The Psychology of the Language Learner: Individual Differences in Second Language Acquisition written by Zoltan Dornyei. The book was first published in 2005 and was later revised in 2015 and published by Routledge. This study thus aims to analyze this book critically due to the importance of psychological issues in teaching English as foreign language. The findings suggested that although Dornyei established a coherent framework for his book, he ignored the socio-cultural effects of society on learners’ psychological aspects. Additionally, they were some concepts, including emotional intelligence, which were left untouched in his book. Finally, the philosophical aspects of concepts being discussed within the book were not addressed or even challenged. Generally speaking, the books limited itself to western studies ignored, the social and cultural elements, and avoided challenging the concepts which can limit readers’ understanding.

چکیدهدر این پژوهش با تبیین اقتصاد مقاومتی و استخراج مؤلفههای آن در راستای تعیین الگوی توسعه زیر بخشهای صنعت، بر اساس دو مؤلفه اصلی حفظ روند رو به رشد و کاهش آسیبپذیری به تبیین سه راهبرد اصلی صنعت دانشبنیان، ارتقاء بهرهوری و کارایی و رهایی از وابستگی پرداخته و در هر یک از این راهبردها به تبیین شاخصهای اولویتبندی و توسعه صنایع (پانزده شاخص کمی و کیفی) بر مبنای اقتصاد مقاومتی پرداختهشده است. سپس با استفاده از روش تحلیل سلسله مراتبی و دریافت پرسشنامه از بیستوهفت نفر از نخبگان دانشگاه و صنعت به اولویتبندی شاخصها با استفاده از نرمافزار جهت سیاستگذاریهای صنعتی در سطح کلان پرداختهشده است. در این پژوهش اولین اولویت در جهت اجرایی نمودن اقتصاد مقاومتی در صنایع کشور، کاهش وابستگی صنایع به مواد اولیه خارجی هست، دومین اولویت تقویت صنایع استراتژیک مرتبط با نیازهای اساسی مردم بوده و سومین اولویت نیز افزایش میزان آموزش کارکنان هر رشته فعالیت صنعتی در راستای تقویت صنعت دانشبنیان میباشد. بر اساس نتایج این پژوهش رشته فعالیتهای تولید ابزارهای اپتیکی و تجهیزات عکاسی و تولید تجهیزات پزشکی و جراحی و رشته فعالیت تولید تجهیزات کنترل عملیات صنعتی در رتبههای اول تا سوم قرار گرفتند

The purpose of this study is to review the book “Theoretical Foundations of Educational Technology” authored by Dr. Hashem Fardanesh. For this reason, the book's two dimensions of form and content have been critically explored. Observance of writing and spelling rules, fluency of the text, English-Persian dictionary, and thematic index can be considered as the apparent advantages of the mentioned work. However, providing a preface, stating the main purpose of the work, introduction, and objectives of each chapter, summarizing, questions to evaluate the audience and more appropriate design of the cover can help make it more desirable in appearance. In terms of content, this work has advantages such as logical order and internal coherence, attention to the basics of this field, appropriate phrase choices, and attention to credible sources. Update the definition of educational technology, and provide content related to the concepts of systems, learning, and performance; Uniformity of citation style, clearer presentation of some drawers, and appropriate styling of titles can enrich this book's content. In general, this work is a valuable work for the initial acquaintance with the theoretical foundations of educational technology, and to some extent, it can acquaint the readers with the general and basic frameworks of this field.

The present article aims at describing and criticizing the theories of chaos and complexity. Therefore, the "Critical Philosophical Exploration" method was used. The statistical population comprised all books, articles, studies, and research pertaining to the subject that was selected with purposive sampling and the maximum probable sources. The data required were collected through notetaking and analyzed by verbal and logical inference. According to the research findings, chaos theory is the science of studying complex, dynamic, nonlinear, non-equilibrium systems, and complexity theory is the science of study, description, and explanation of the behavior of complex adaptive systems characterized by butterfly effect, unknown attractors, self-similarity, emergence, feedback loops, inequality, self-organization, nesting, networking, holism, nonlinearity, and unpredictability. These theories are considered a scientific theory by Kuhn's conception, a science by the concept of soft sciences, and a paradigm because of questioning the paradigm of modernism and presenting alternative assumptions.

Academic classrooms and the lived experience of university professors have been a major concern for many academic, educational, and training systems in Iran and elsewhere in the world. The importance and necessity of addressing classroom space are a valuable realm that can provide a variety of challenges for education experts and managers. Therefore, in this essay, the book "A Narrative of Academic Classrooms: The Lived Experience of University Professors" was attempted by Abbas Kazemi from the Institute for Cultural and Social Studies published in 1396. Using descriptive-analytic analysis, the purpose of the present review is to identify the strengths and weaknesses of the book and make it more useful for the subsequent editions without any bias. First, his work was introduced, and then the book was criticized in two aspects of form and content. At the end of the critique, the rational communication approach is considered as a communicative channel for the classroom with the argument that it can take a deeper look at the learning process. In the end, , suggestions are made to eliminate the shortcomings of this work.

Heidegger Reframed: Interpreting Key Thinkers for the Arts by Barbara Bolt, translated from English into Persian by Mahtab Kalantari. In this book, it is tried to examine the Contemporary Art of the technocratic community on the basis of the rejection of Heidegger’s enframement. In the present article, after introducing the main text of the article, the formal features of the book such as the formal and bibliographic characteristics and the Persian translation will be introduced. Then the content of the work, based on the Persian translation, is studied chapter by chapter, briefly, along with titles’ equivalents through each chapter. Subsequently, the formal advantages and disadvantages of the book will be accounted. And then, the content of the book will be discussed in two separate sections according to its translation and the original text.

The purpose of writing this essay is the content critique and the form of the book of Drama and the Semiotics of Theater. The book is one of the most important books of the theater and drama analysis. This book focuses on the theoretical and methodological theories in the context of Structuralism semantic attitudes, and in this regard, the author sought to conceive concepts that somehow can be regarded as the main concepts and underlying themes of theater analysis. An analytical and applied methodology is presented to audiences who are interested in familiarizing themselves with the dynamic world of theater or seeking semantic methods for analyzing the theater. The main issue of this paper is the question of how the semiotics can analyze and interpret the theater and reveal the angles of understanding and comprehending the complexities of the world of theater and drama. The necessity and importance of a critical look at the book of semiotics of theater are for the more precise analysis, as well as the explanation of the mechanisms and functionalities of semiotic science in the analysis of dramatic texts. The book “Form and Creation in Iranian Music” has been written and edited based on one of the academic courses of Iranian music, and at least because of the lack of references in this field, this book is considered as a reference and rich source. Its critique has been done with the aim of developing the domains of study in this field. The source of the major theoretical backgrounds of the book is the personal experiences and ideas of the author, as a well-known figure in this field. Using numerous and various examples related to the titles and issues, as well as the content of the last chapter about the genres in Iranian music, can be considered as the highlights. The incoherence of the contents in certain titles, not presenting enough explanations of some expressions, and ambiguity when using certain specialized vocabulary can be counted as weaknesses of the work.

The current study deals with the face and content analysis of the Language Learning, Sentence Construction and Writing Textbook, developed for the third grade. It is a descriptive-analytic research study, using both qualitative (including focus group and content analysis) and quantitative methods. For the qualitative process, a targeted sampling technique was applied, and the data were gathered through semi-constructed interviews. Some strengths of the textbook were the good title, no racial/ethnic and gender biases, and attention to students’ favorite activities. However, the lack of appropriate content list, too heavy content, disregarding language competence or the ability of students with hearing impairment were among the weaknesses. Using the census method for the quantitative assessment, the statistical population consisted of teachers of third-grade hearing-impaired from Isfahan province (n=35). The quantitative findings revealed that the correlation between the scores of the two characteristics mentioned was 0.85 (p<0.01). The t-test value obtained for the two correlated sets of scores was not significant at the 0.05 level (t=0.103, df=33). To put it differently, there is no difference in the average teachers’ evaluation scores for content and face analysis of the Language Learning, Sentence Construction and Writing textbook.

Heidegger: Through phenomenology to Thought is the first interpretative- analytic work in English language and it is the only work in this language that contains an introduction by Heidegger that has written as answer to author's questions. Author`s method is analytic interpretation and at the same time sympathetic of Heidegger's thought according to 30 works of him contain the books and essays belong to different periods of his thought. Author sometimes, however rarely, critics Heidegger's points of wives. The book has 768 pages and is written by a flaunt prose. Author himself has made English proper equal words for some Heidegger`s artificial Words . Richardson`s analysis is consistence and has a defined direction and it is useful and instructive for readers who know Heidegger `philosophy not so much. The book is a specialist analysis and at the same time explanatory work about Heidegger`s thought.

Today, in many business, industrial, and services organizations and other training institutes, there is growing attention to instructional design benefits and its use in creating effective learning environments. Although the field of instructional design in the global scientific community has developed, however, there are not enough resources in the Persian language in this area; resources that can meet the needs of professionals and students. "Designing Effective Education" is one of the best resources are translated to Persian. In this paper, the book has been reviewed and criticized. From a general point of view, the book -as an academic textbook- apparent positive features and content and instructional effectiveness. The authors of this book have offered a model of instructional design based on scientific principles and their experiences. This book is not only a scientific book, but also an educational textbook. In addition to the favorable properties, the book has a few shortcomings which are described in the article.

Understanding the nature of government and society has been one of the most important areas of study of political sociologists, especially analysts of the Constitutional Revolution and the Islamic Revolution in Iran. The book of the displacement of the two revolutions seeks to answer the question of why in the traditional and backward Iranian society of the Qajar period, modern revolution and in the newly-established Iran, the Pahlavi period has occurred a religious revolution. The author puts forward the idea of a Migdal network, arguing that in a 300-year-old process of Shiite religion, there has been a turning point in esoteric and mysterious thinking of the social sphere that has reached the last stage of socialization with the Islamic Revolution. In this paper, we will attempt to review the book of the movement of two revolutions from three perspectives of form, content, and method. The results show that in spite of some criticisms, it has a desirable form, and efforts to present a native model focusing on culture and society, and in particular the Shiite religion and clergy as the subject of analysis, are the most important strengths of this work. In contrast, the author’s intellectual attachment to empathy with liberal democracy and modernization, along with the lack of a coherent method, has diminished the quality of content and method.

The book Philosophy of Religious Thought in Islam and Christianity in the field of theology is a comparison and compares the structure of Ash'ari Kalam and Catholic theology based on the reading of Thomas Aquinas. The authors of the book have first studied the structure of theological treatises and the origins of Catholic theology by referring to the place of Ash'ari Kalam in Islamic sciences and its historical evolution to be able to compare Ash'ari Kalam and Catholic theology at the level of origins and problem-solving methods. The strengths of this book include: providing extensive information on Ash'ari Kalam and Catholic theology, avoiding mere attention to apparent similarities between Ash'ari Kalam and Catholic theology, and attempting to achieve a common language as the main achievement of the comparison. Some of the weak points of this book are some undocumented explanations, point to some apparent similarities between Islamic Kalam and Protestant theology despite attempts to avoid it, biased judgments, failure to refer to all sources, and failure to follow some rules of the comparative method. Some of the weak points of this translating book are difficulty in reading some passages of the text, ambiguity in translating some sentences, overcoming Arabic idioms, and their lack of explanation.

In the foregoing research, the critique and evaluation of John J. Mearsheimer's book "The Tragedy of Great Power Politics" is done in two levels: form criticism and content criticism. At the level of form criticism, the book is in good standing in terms of printing, page layout, and typographical errors, and at the content level, the book is written in a positivist way with the acceptance of realistic assumptions. Ignoring the economic and cultural components that underlie international relations and disregard for other non-state actors' involvement in international interactions are among the content shortcomings of the book. In content criticism with the Islamic approach, the ethical, value, and belief conflicts of the Islamic view in international relations with the book can be one of the criticisms of the approach to offensive realism. Supporting domestic researchers and developing theorization scientific space in two dimensions of scientific and financial support for research projects are among the suggested strategies to reach the desired point in native and Islamic theorizing.

The materials which are produced to be used at national level are of great importance since they are supposed to feed a wide range of audience. Therefore, critical review of such materials is among the critics’ priorities. In this review article, the newly-published English language materials for grade ten in Iran including the textbook, workbook, and CD will be analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively. After reviewing the history of producing such materials in the previous periods, the current work was analyzed in terms of its structure and theoretical framework. Then, its content was analyzed via comparing its elements with those of the communicative approach as the mainstream framework in the realm of language teaching. The analyses indicated that, considering the wide range of audience, the current work is in urgent need of revision if it intends to meet the objectives of foreign language learning in the curriculum.

L’Histoire des relations entre l’Iran et la France Du Moyen Âge à nos jours (The history of Iranian-French relations from the Middle Ages to the present) is a book that describes the ups and downs of the history of Iran-France relations from its starting point in connection with the French court with the Mongol kings in Iran in the Middle Ages, until 2018, when it was published in France by L’Harmattan Publications. This book is the first work written in French by an Iranian researcher on Iran-France relations. On the other hand, in some cases, the Iranian approach towards these relations has damaged the reading of this book, and it quotes these relations in French from the Iranian point of view, which includes the historical references. This can confuse the international audience with confusion and misunderstanding of the time of the events. The author pays more attention to the political and cultural aspects of the relations between the two countries and has almost ignored the economic aspects of recent decades. Some writing considerations, such as spelling, grammar, and punctuation, as well as the unity of the way certain nouns are written, need to be reviewed in this work, which can make the book a valuable reference after revision.

Public Sociology in Practice is a translation of a special issue in Current Sociology, “Precarious Engagements: Combat in the Realm of Public Sociology” (2014). The content of the book is provided in three sections, consisting of contextualized experiences of different authors through the world. The aim is to apply public sociology in different communities and countries. Two achievements of the book can be stated. First, the fourfold classification by Michael Burawoy in sociology (professional, policy, critical, and public) does not remain in pure form in different local contexts. Second, in every country, on the one hand, local traditions and history are concerned with sociology discipline, and on the other hand, dominant culture and politics paved the way to success or frustration of public scholar. The book shows internal professional dynamics and external dynamics in relation to the political field.

The main aim of the book “Ambiguity function in the process of reading the text authored by Forough Sahba” is to examine complexities discursivities, and narrative techniques making the stories ambiguous. Although the author attempts to present a host of evidence on ambiguous-making techniques for modern stories, there still exist some criticisms on the structure and content of the book which requires its examination more closely. Disorganization and weakness in the classification of the book’s contents besides misreading of “ambiguity” are the main drawbacks of the present book. More evidently, reducing the ambiguity in stories, merely modern and postmodern ones, equaling the ambiguity with its complexities and discursivities, and also downgrading the ambiguity which are perceived as strategies for maintaining the author’s authority, are the main motives for writing this paper.

International law has so far made remarkable progress in two areas. One of these is human rights and the other is the international criminal law. After World War II, numerous international and regional documents were adopted in the field of human rights. The European convention for the protection of human rights and fundamental freedoms is the first regional instrument which provides a judicial institution, the European court for the protection of human rights, as a monitoring mechanism on execution of the convention’s provisions. In the field of international criminal law, the focus has been on prosecuting and trial of individuals who violate humanitarian laws, and international criminal tribunals have been prosecuting perpetrators of these catastrophes. The book of Criminal Law in European Council, which has been translated comprehensively, expresses the translator's expertise in both areas. But this specialization required that the pages, however briefly, were allocated to the other European court decisions to make the terms of the convention clearer as well as to the judgments of the international criminal tribunals which provided interpretations that were contrary to the interpretations of the European court in some human rights in order to comprehensively cover the issue and its relevance to the goals and educational needs of graduate students.

The Achaemenid Army is considered an integral part in recognizing the culture and civilization of this period, and the research potential of this part of Achaemenid civilization has led to the writing and publication of such works in this regard. The book of the Achaemenid Persian Army was compiled as such exigency. This effect has influenced the factors affecting the formation, growth, and development as well as the decline of Achaemenid army. The purpose of the present study is to clarify the value of the text of this book in the form of content analysis. In addition to the strengths and research fields, this book has shortcomings that have been addressed in the research. In the overall conclusion, the strengths of the syntactic book and the combination of two categories of sources, including classical historical texts as well as archaeological data along with illustrative illustrations. The book’s weaknesses include inappropriate use of resources, inadequacies of content, some unpredictable claims, and lack of material content. In sum, the present book can be considered as a source of tuition for the Achaemenid history courses, as well as the Achaemenid archeology of the undergraduate and master classes in ancient Iranian history and Historical archaeological period.

Encyclopedia of Law which has been reprinted many times is well known to students and researchers of law. However, this series is open to criticism and for consideration for certain reasons. However, criticizing the form or style of the book is not intended here. In this article, the above said book is analyzed from two points of view: reflective and criticizing. 1.Regarding documents of Islamic jurisprudence and usul, juratory rules, … ; 2. concerning the writer’s criticism to some opinions and comments of jurists and usulin. In other words, in this article, it is tried to criticize some of unscientific and incorrect standpoints of the writer in the domain of juratory thought from the view point of shiite jurisprudence.
