Abstract: Rhetorical Studies in Arabic literature have been developed by Holly Quran, aftermorphological and syntactic Studies in the Muslim world. Many Muslim scholars believe that the value of this rhetorical query is not less than syntactic studies for understanding the Qur'anic points. By this point of view they offered many studies in this field. But some big shortcomings like their focos on sintacs of the sentence mad western scholars to begin some niew ways in rhetorics studies by focosing on the field of text instead of sentence, which had switched to stablishing stylistics studies. The big question now is searchig for any relationship between clacical rhethorics and modern stylistics. In this study we have a look on the book of Professor Saad Maslooh to know if he had succed in this relationship.

Max Weber is one of the most important sociologists who has great influence on researchers in different fields of social sciences. Historians have also been affected by his thoughts and beliefs both in methodology and explaining historical events. The extent of these effects has been increased by the translation of Weber’s works into Persian. Those historians who choose to explain historical events especially contemporary history are engaged in terms such as “understanding”, “legitimacy”, “rationalisation”, and etc which Weber introduced in sociology. His influence on subjects like “the origin and function of government”, and revolution is even greater compared to other subjects. In this article by the use of an analytic approach the extent of his influence on these two subjects are discussed in detail based on facts.

This article is a review of the book Adab al-Amsal v-al-Hekam(A Collection of Proverbs and Maxims). In this book, the author has selected more than 500 verses of Arabic poems which are derived from and influenced by Imam Ali’s words; moreover, he has represented an example from Imam Ali’s words for each verse.Among the advantages of the book, are less mistakes in spelling and providing explanations for some difficult terms at the bottom of the provided example.Although the book has been published in Iran, written in Arabic language. If the book were in Persian and if the poets’ poems and words attributed to Imam Ali were translated in Persian, it would address a wide range of people in Iran.Among the defects of this book are: to quote Imam Ali’s word from Sharh-e Ibn-e Abi al-Hadid and Ghorar al-Hekam rather than Nahj al-Balāgha, to quote poetry poems from secondhand sources, not selecting the better examples from Imam Ali’s words, repetition some themes, and specially the semantic irrelevance between some poems and Imam Ali’s words which have been represented as an example of impressionability from his words.

Compound nouns are one of the important parts of lexicon in every language. They are result of interaction between morphology and syntax. Compounding is one of the subjects which have been always under research in the history of linguistic studies from different aspects. The semantic aspect of compounds in Farsi has not been so much in consideration in recent studies. This paper with a semantic-cognitive approach surveys different kinds and nature of semantic relations in exocentric compound noun. From perspective of cognitive studies in linguistics the very kind of semantic relation which exists between constituents of compounds is a decisive criterion for the final comprehension and interpretation of a compound. In fact the way by which the constituents of a compound link together results in the emergence of semantic relation between head and modifier. In every language we find endocentric compounds with a semantic head inside the compound and consequently a compositional meaning. On the other hand, there are plentiful of compounds-exocentric compounds-in a language which have no semantic head and consequently no compositionality. For these exocentric compounds we find the referent of the compound out of it and it should be listed in lexicon and to be memorized. This paper gives us a better understanding of the nature of semantic relations in compounds and it could be used in lexicography, corpus linguistics and morpho-semantic studies of lexicon

In this paper, the author attempts to identify various aspects of values and the shortcomings of the book by purposefully reviewing the book of "Exhibiting Photography" based on the four axes of the overall introduction of the book and the author, external analysis and the origin of the book and its author, internal analysis and place of the book, and critique and evaluation of the book, and providing a good overview of its functional features and form. In this vein, the author, by drawing on a holistic view of the translations of photographic texts in Iran, outlines the general situation of the Iranian photography community at the time the book was published. Then, he analyzes the contents of the book in detail from the proposed perspective and evaluates the useful items and shortcomings of the book and concludes that despite the existing shortcomings, both in the structure of the book and in translation, the benefits of this book for the current photography community, and in particular the academic community, is far more than its shortcomings, provided it is favorably introduced to academic and art centers.

Today, the discussion of method and methodology is one of the important measures of science in any field of science. Perhaps now, without knowledge of the method and methodology the claim of science in every discipline is questioned. In doing so, the present study criticizes three published works in the field of research method in the history, namely Research Method in Historiography by Dr. Jahangir Ghaem Maghami, An Introduction to Research Method in the History by Dr. Alireza Mollaiy Tavani and Method of Research in History by Dr. Hassan Hazratiand, evaluating the method and methodology and its relation with thinking in the history. This critique reveals the implications of adopting a positivist approach in the history. The adoption of the methodological patterns of natural sciences in history, weakening the position of criticism, Undermining the position of thought in history, ignoring the role of the historian as at least part of the process of producing history, etc. are the consequences of adopting a positivist approach in history. Accordingly, it is the current research strategy that arrangements are to be considered by that, thinking in history becomes the dominant position. The present article aims to establish a distinct relation between history and thought, and there is a definition and interpretation of history and historical methodology, advocating strengthening thinking.

Acceleration of technological and scientific discoveries in recent decades led to the ramification of different branches of academic fields, which per se led to the flourishing of publication with the topics dedicated to the basics and introduction of these new fields. “An Introduction to Genetic Archaeology”, by Kamaledin Niknami and Maryam Ramezani falls into this kind of publication, which was published by SAMT in 10 chapters and 424 pages. The book enjoys a good quality print and while some grammatical and misspellings can be seen in few pages, it generally satisfies the reader’s taste. However, the content of the book is not as good as its configuration. Some fluctuation is evident in its narration and its language; the length of the chapters is not balanced, and it does not follow an explicit order from the beginning to the end. Furthermore, the book does not appreciate and respect copy-write rule, and it contains many cases of plagiarisms which are described in the paper in details. With respect to the copy- write and other laws considering this issue in the country, the paper suggests that the book be gathered from the market, and after correcting these pitfalls, it can be redistributed to the book market.

The historical study of the role of women in different classes of society, including the Sufi class, will provide a comprehensive and accurate understanding of them. Trying to understand this role considering the dominance of the patriarchal view is actually a way to analyze and criticize this ruling view. Numerous pieces of historical evidence testify to the concept of transsexualism in Sufism, which makes the historical neglect of women in such an attitude incomprehensible. In a patriarchal society where women have fewer opportunities than men to participate in the social, economic, religious, and political arenas and are usually marginalized from the text, naturally, women's entry into the ranks of mystics and during the stages of mystical perfection has faced many difficulties. This study examines the history of Sufi women and how they entered the mystical path and concludes that several factors have been important in guiding women to the mystical path, the most important of which is the kinship relationship that has been ignored by the patriarchal view, and this is one of the most important critiques of the patriarchal attitude towards the flow of behavior and Sufism.

fter Arabs’ contacts with the Western civilization during the colonial invasion of Western imperialist countries, a large number of intellectuals and Arab writers, before and after the World War II, were impressed by the Western advancements in various fields. They observed the Western civilization closely as successive cultural missions has been dispatched to Western nations since the era of Muhammad Ali Pasha to this day. They have tried to apply what they have learned and taught it to the Arab nations without considering the fundamental principles of the Arab nations and their Islamic culture. The book of the convex mirrors (from structure to deconstruction), by Dr. Abdul Aziz Hammouda, is a welcome step for debunking Western criticism and restoring the confidence of the Arabs in their glorious culture. The author was a professor of English language and literary criticism in Egyptian and Arab universities. The book consists of four chapters, a preface, references, and some information about the author. The print quality of the book, the typesetting, and the layout of the book are good. Its cover design comares with the firm design of the series in “the world of knowledge”. The style is good and the diction is fluent and eloquent. The book does not include an introduction to justify the production of book. The author had used all means and scientific methods common in scientific research. The book suffers from overlaps and repetitions and lacks a logical sequence of ideas, but the literary and critical terms are accurate. The book is not a methodology book and has not been written for this purpose. The book is not based a method of teaching, nor it follows the principles of material design, but it can be used as a reference source or a complement to familiarize students with literary criticism. The author has simplified the difficult philosophical concepts of modernism and make them more accessible to readers by removing the ambiguities, which is a significant achievement in its own right and other critics have failed to do.

The deontological epistemic approach was a reaction to the foundationalism approach that advocated the existence of basic or self-justified beliefs. Descartes, skeptical of any kind of knowledge, provided the first foundations for such an approach. John Locke and W. K. Clifford expanded it with two different perspectives. Locke, in "The Reasonableness of Christianity" and "Human Understanding" and Clifford in "The Ethic of Belief" attempted to form extreme reasoning approach while criticizing foundationalism and emphasizing the existence of reason for any belief. This view provided a new basis for the acceptance of belief, which emphasized both reasoning and the ethical aspect of accepting the belief. Clifford in the treatise of "The Ethic of Beliefs", by telling two specific stories, while criticizing and praising current epistemology, seeks to show that the importance of ethical consequences of epistemic belief is more than merely justification. His major point of reliance in this path is the link between ethics and epistemology. In his treatise, he criticized the religious rightness beliefs of Muslims and, after Locke, specifically addressed the theory of authority. Clifford's method will face many challenges in emphasizing mere reason of maximum extreme type, and rejection of the particular state of faith.

After Arabic and Persian, Turkish is considered as the third language of Islam world. Therefore, Ottoman scientists and scholars in addition to writing books in their own language have translated different kinds of texts from Arabic and especially Persian into Ottoman Turkish. Since tenth century, more than hundreds of books have been translated from Persian into Ottoman Turkish. This tendency still continues in modern Turkey. Contrary to this trend, very few numbers of texts have been translated from Ottoman Turkish into Persian and in fact they can be counted by one’s fingers. It was just during Naseri period and after construction of Homayouni Dar al Tarjoma (Translation House) that some of the texts and sources of Ottoman were translated by the Turkish translators into Persian. The strange thing is that after Naseri period this trend of translating Turkish texts into Persian almost stopped completely. Iranians huge and serious neglect of translating Turkish texts and sources into Persian, more than anything, resulted in weakening the cross border Iran history books and sources while significant parts of the Ottoman sources include precious information about Iran history from Safavids to Qajars. Therefore, getting familiar with the Ottoman texts and sources, and translating them into Persian requires serious effort. While European orientalists have been translating Ottoman sources into their own languages for more than two decades, in Iran there is no even relative knowledge about these works. In this article, at first the importance and necessity of translating Ottoman texts are explained. Then, in a case study the importance of Osman Pasha History and its translation into Persian is discussed.

Surface layer style of vocabulary of the language, which organizes the stylistic analysis, is of paramount importance because words are the most important tools of literary texts which have a considerable role in ideology. In fact, the selection and arrangement of special words make the unique and personal style of the writer. Nahj Al- balagha as one of the unique masterpieces of humanity after the Quran has played a key role in world literature. Undoubtedly, choice of words has a significant impact on immortality. Therefore, using a descriptive - analytic method, the present study aimed to compare the formal and colloquial features of 15 sermons with 15 social, political, and ethical letters from Nahj al-Balagha. It aims to discover the moral and stylistic differences in spoken and written words of Imam Ali (AS), expressed through sensory and intellectual terms, expressed or implied, marked and unmarked to discover situational context. Findings indicate that the choice of abstract, marked or implied words in sermon is more than that of letters. In contrast, the high frequency of concrete, explicit, and unmarked has made the letter styles more scientific. Choice of words in spoken and written styles of Nahj al-Balagha has been directly influenced by situational context words.

The research in Saadi's Arabic poetry is not at par with the Persian poems of this famous Iranian poet, either in terms of quality or quantity, this is more obvious in the correction and description of the text of these poems. The book of review of “Saadi's Arabic Poems Based on Applied Criticism” was published for the first time in 2015 by Shahid Madani University of Azerbaijan publisher. Amir Muqaddam Mottaghi, the author of the book, has tried, in his research, to evaluate Saadi's Arabic poems based on a research theory called applied criticism. He introduces this criticism as one of the types of practical criticism based on the effect on the reader. His book was published in 2017. The author has collected the contents of the book in three chapters. First, the theoretical framework of the discussion, then Saadi's life and works, and at the end, the review of Saadi's Arabic poems has been compiled on the basis of practical criticism. In this article, an effort is made to describe, analyze and criticize the mentioned book in the four axes of research structure, Saadiology, documentation of information and in-text references, errors, and content deficiencies. The insufficient and disorganized research method, the author's incorrect research theory, and the author's disregard for the principle of reference in the research have distracted the author from compiling a scientific and academic book that will resemble Saadi's Arabic poetry for the audience.

Teaching “Nahj al-Balaghah” as one of the major branches of Islamic literature has been considered in Iranian universities for more than three decades in form of compulsory and optional course. One of the common and almost traditional teaching methods of this great text is to express its religious teachings and the underlying wisdom, faith and educational points. Nahj al-Balaghah is known as an important branch of the Arabic literature in classification of the texts, so paying attention to the literary aspects of “Nahj al-Balaghah” is essential in its teaching. This is because with the help of efficient and modern teaching methods, the professors can increase the student’s skills like proper text reading, semantic understanding, literary taste and recognizing stylistic features of Imam Ali’s (pbuh) speech. Today, theorists and specialists in the field of literature teaching have offered effective strategies for teaching “Nahj al-Balaghah”, which both consider teaching its content and cover the literature of this great text. Thus, the present study seeks to introduce these strategies and find out to what extent they have been implemented in Tehran universities. The main tool in this descriptive-analytical research is a questionnaire. Some of the most important findings of the present research show that “Nahj al-Balaghah” is not taught as a literary text in the universities, but rather its contents are considered and paid attention to.

Abstract The present study is conducted to analyze Prospect 1 (7th grade) according to functional approach. So, different processes will be categorized and compared based on the experiential metafunction introduced in systemic functional grammar (Halliday and Matthissen, 2014). The research follows a descriptive-analytic method. The text of the book (instructions, conversations, and lessons) is classified into six process types including material, mental, relational, behavioral, verbal and existential. Then, the usage pattern of each will be demonstrated. For a better comparison the book is divided into four parts (each consisting of two lessons, exercises and the review). The results show that among 509 processes in the book, relational (36 %) is the most frequent one. The percentage frequencies of other processes are as follows: material (27%), behavioral (19%), verbal (14%), mental (4%), and existential (less than 1%). In the last two parts of the book, the percentage frequency of the relational process decreases. On the contrary, that of material process increases. The use of behavioral process is decreased to the end of the book while mental process reaches its highest occurrence in the last part of the book. In general, 60 different verbs (types) have been used in the book: material (35 verbs), mental (7 verbs), relational (4 verbs), behavioral (6 verbs), verbal (7 verbs), and existential (1 verb)

The idea of the proper role of the public sector (the state) in the economy has been discussed from the ancient times and due to its importance has entered the educational programs of universities around the world. This paper introduces and critically analyses Jonathan Gruber’s Book entitled “Public Finance and Public Policy”. The book is one of the most recent textbooks in the field and is used as the main textbook in the public sector economics courses in many universities. The main strengths of the book are: fulfilling the formal standards of textbooks, up-to-date contents, the author’s emphasis on the practical and experimental issues of the public finance, its logical order, and its very user friendly writing. But, the book has some important shortcomings such as: its emphasis on the Pareto approach and neglecting alternative approaches such as the Rawlsian approach or the Amarya sen`s capability approach, lack of care to the historical approach and issues, neglecting non-liberal economists’ theories (e.g. socialist theories), neglecting the specific issues of the public finance in developing countries and ignoring new scientific instruments and issues such as game theory and behavioral public finance.

The study discuses Professor Seyed Hossein Nasr’s idea of traditionalism; a discourse of traditionalism that seeks to resurrect the divine science relied on divine tradition, perennial philosophy, and intuitive reason. In the negative dimension, acknowledging cognitive, moral, and environmental crises caused by modern sciences and their inefficiency as well, made him criticize these sciences and emphasize a return to the scientific tradition and philosophic heritage of the past. In the affirmative dimension, he emphasizes a return to the divine sciences and production of religious sciences as a savior of the situation. To him, the characteristics of divine sciences are: disassociation between metaphysical dimension and the physical dimension, longitudinal outlook towards the hierarchies of universe, symbolism, traditional scientific language, and avoiding utilitarian outlook. In fact, to return to tradition means to invite to be equipped with the past scientific tradition, to get free from western domination, and to be immune from the invasion of technology waves, social structures, and modern sciences. However such a support for scientific tradition is passive, because it loses to confront with modern sciences intelligently and from the standpoint of power. It is an invitation for solitary in order not to confront with west.

The purpose of this article is to review the book of justice theory by John Rawls, a contemporary political philosopher. An attempt will be made to introduce a critical review on the agenda. What is Rawls's main issue? What is the purpose of this work and its place in the resources available in this area? These are the most important issues the authors are trying to address. But, Rawls's main claim, which is justice as fairness, has been critically criticized by some schools of thought and thinkers in contemporary political philosophy. These critiques include critiques of libertarians, communitarians, and contemporary feminists. Also, the explanation of the relationship between Islamic attitude and Rawls’ Justice Theory is a subject that has been raised at the end of the article.
