One of the most valuable of this academic books is "Microeconomic Analysis" which is written by Hal.R Varian and one of the top scientific sources of microeconomics. Ney Publishing has published this book which is translated by Mr. Reza Hosseini and now it is one of the educational resources of microeconomics in postgraduate studies at Iranian universities. given the valuable position of this book, its translation requires a critical review and this article has tried to evaluate the weaknesses and strengths of this book according to analytical-descriptive method by quantitative and qualitative analysis. It means, discussing about the appearance features, writing, edition, idiomatic translations and text translation. It has been concluded that the translation of this book is quantitatively acceptable, but it has qualitative disadvantages that are not sufficient for the translation of an academic scientific book. It is suggested that due to the numerous editions of the book's translation and its importance, the next editions of this translation be reviewed and the proposed corrections be considered. ترجمه یکی از ابزارهای مهم انتقال دانش، به‌ویژه برای جامعه‌ی دانشگاهی است، از این رو ترجمه‌ی یک کتاب مانند اصل آن دارای ارزش و اهمیت خاصی است، یکی از این کتاب‌های بسیار ارزشمند دانشگاهی کتاب «تحلیل اقتصاد خرد» (Microeconomic Analysis) اثر هال رونالد واریان (Hal.R Varian) است که یکی از منابع علمی برتر اقتصاد خرد به‌شمار می‌رود. نشر نی این کتاب را با ترجمه‌ی آقای رضا حسینی منتشر کرده است واکنون در دانشگاهای ایران یکی از منابع آموزشی اقتصاد خرد در تحصیلات تکمیلی به‌شمار می‌رود. با توجه جایگاه ارزشمند کتاب، ترجمه‌ی آن نیاز به یک بررسی انتقادی دارد واین نوشتار با روش توصیفی تحلیلی و با تکیه بر تحلیل کمی وکیفی، یعنی بررسی ویژگی‌های ظاهری، نگارشی، ویرایشی، برگردان‌های اصطلاحی و بررسی متن ترجمه، کوشیده است تا نقاط ضعف و قوت آن‌را بررسی کند وبه این نتیجه رسیده است که ترجمه‌ی این کتاب از لحاظ کمی قابل قبول می‌نماید، اما از لحاظ کیفی ایرادهایی دارد که مناسب با ترجمه‌ی یک کتاب علمی دانشگاهی نیست. پیشنهاد می‌شود با توجه به چاپ‌های متعدد ترجمه‌ی کتاب و اهمیت آن، چاپ‌های بعدی این ترجمه مورد بازبینی قرار گرفته و موارد اصلاحی پیشنهادی مد نظر قرار گیرد.
