The current study deals with the face and content analysis of the Language Learning, Sentence Construction and Writing Textbook, developed for the third grade. It is a descriptive-analytic research study, using both qualitative (including focus group and content analysis) and quantitative methods. For the qualitative process, a targeted sampling technique was applied, and the data were gathered through semi-constructed interviews. Some strengths of the textbook were the good title, no racial/ethnic and gender biases, and attention to students’ favorite activities. However, the lack of appropriate content list, too heavy content, disregarding language competence or the ability of students with hearing impairment were among the weaknesses. Using the census method for the quantitative assessment, the statistical population consisted of teachers of third-grade hearing-impaired from Isfahan province (n=35). The quantitative findings revealed that the correlation between the scores of the two characteristics mentioned was 0.85 (p<0.01). The t-test value obtained for the two correlated sets of scores was not significant at the 0.05 level (t=0.103, df=33). To put it differently, there is no difference in the average teachers’ evaluation scores for content and face analysis of the Language Learning, Sentence Construction and Writing textbook.

Teaching different foreign languages and related literature has nearly started since establishing universities in Iran, but Linguistics Departments were developed nearly half a century ago. After a while, the syllabi were reviewed; new fields have been started, and a lot of works were published and thus the development of the studies happened. It is clear that due to the increase of the number of students (admission rate) and adding up the number of related works, reviewing and criticizing them could be useful. In this article, the ratio of the students in Linguistics and all foreign language studies to all other students was estimated. Then, the importance of reviewing the references in the fields of study was highlighted. Finally, some suggestions for a better academic development of Linguistics and foreign language studies will be mentioned.

The purpose of this research is to investigate the position and structure of proverbs in Qaisar Aminpour poetry. It is a descriptive and analytical research study, using library resources for data collection. Here, the structural features of proverbs in Qaisar Aminpour poetry are explained from two perspectives of language and literary. Aminpour uses proverbs in four functions; namely, proverbial phrases, proverb creation, manipulation with the term proverb and proverbs with different uses (manipulation in meaning). For defamiliarization, he tries to interweave proverbs with literary figures and enhance literary aspect. Among which similarity and paradox are generally received more attention. His proverbs often focus on ethics and education. For Aminpour, proverb is a figurative language and literary device owing its origin to social culture of ordinary language, while covering an artistic characteristic combined with literary and linguistic elements. As a cultural commodity, the proverb is about the language of common people changing its form and nature. Such transformation yields in spreading out different combinations and sentences of Aminpour’s poems across the community.
