Course topic as one of the main pillars of education, along with teaching guidelines and appropriate books can play a proper role in realization and advancement of objectives of each course.
One of the basic courses in the Bachelor of Arabic language and literature field of study which has an effective role in consolidation of translation, reading, bluestocking, and stylistics skills is Arabic Poetic and Prosaic Texts course. Every few years a set of topics is suggested for this course by the Ministry of Science Curriculum Development Council, yet due to dissatisfaction of some professors in this field of study, it seems that the available topics do not match the course objectives.
Hence, the present study with the aid of professors’ points of view attempts to criticize and survey the problems of the topics of this course and finally to suggest proper ones. Some of the research findings showed that the present course topic is too general and it should be sketched in two separate poem and prose categories.
