The relationship between Historical Sociology (HS) and International Relations (IR) is one of the relatively new fields of study, which has attracted the attention of researchers and activists of both fields during the last few decades. In other words, the impact of the international environment on internal developments is the basis for the emergence of this field of study with general titles such as International Historical Sociology (IHS) or Historical Sociology of International Relations (HSIR) during the first years or decade of the current century. The theoretical research on the book “Global Historical Sociology” (GHS), raises the question of whether it is possible to know global historical sociology as a conjuncture point between the mentioned fields of study. The authors of the book criticized this tenet as a transdisciplinary branch that includes three areas: World Sociology, Historical Sociology, and World History. The studies carried out show that ambiguity in the possibility of methodological integration of the fields of sociology and history on the one hand and neglecting the position of the state in global transformations or its overlapping with the newly emerging field of Global Studies causes the current deficiencies in the content and methodological coherence of the book. However, the mentioned attitude can be more carefully considered and developed in the future. In this article, it will be tried to express the strengths and weaknesses of this work with a critical view.

The main purpose of this article is to analyze and critique the content of a historical work entitled The History of Educational Administration Viewed Through Its Textbooks. This book represents the reality of educational administration in a relatively long period of time in the mirror of public textbooks in this field and is a unique and valuable book by choosing a different tool for reviewing the historical course of educational administration. Therefore, while analyzing the structural, content and methodological features of this historical monument, its strengths and shortcomings were identified and extracted. The most important points in this book are the classification of historical courses in educational administration compared to similar classifications, the use of polysemous words in writing historical courses, ambiguity in distinguishing general and specialized textbooks of educational administration and internal inconsistency of the content of each course. Also, as a result of coping with the text, the quality of the Persian translation of the book was evaluated in terms of replacing the specialized Persian and correct equivalents, text, and psychological text, as well as the rules of writing and editing.

The era of Ilkhanid's rule, according to historical requirements, was accompanied by the growth of Persian historiography. Numerous historiographical works that appeared in the Ilkhanids realm and on the other hand in the realm of the Mamluks have strengthened the record of Islamic-Iranian historiography and eased the way for understanding the history of this era. Among them, Wassaf, a literate-historian who has used a different method in presenting historical interpretations in literary style and historical structure played a special role. The book Life, Time and Historiography of Wassaf is important because it deals with such a historian and has been studied for this reason. The critique of this book is done by the distinction between the two concepts; explanation and interpretation, as well as differing concepts of historian and history-researcher, further the attention to both negative and positive approaches, pursues this goal to show that there is a difference between understanding of history and historiography and current interpretive understanding of the historian’s explanation, should not be considered historiography.

Time and Narrative (3 vol. 1983-1985) of Paul Ricoeur (1913-2005) was translated from French to Persian by Mahshid Nonahali, which was published fully by Nashr-e Ney in 2018. Ricoeur's book is a difficult work that requires relatively complete familiarity with various disciplines and branches of humanities such as philosophy, history, literature, narratology, etc. For this reason, less attention is paid here to the third volume and more to the second volume. Regarding translation, it can be claimed that fidelity and accuracy have been respected, but there are many problems, especially in the field of Persian language. Apart from other problems, the translator's prose lacks sufficient dynamic and fluency to convey Ricoeur's concepts; her obsession with translation and syntactic inflexibility has made the book a difficult work. In addition, the fundamental mistakes of the translator about some important terms such as anecdote/narrative, story/ history, etc. are discussed, which have caused some of the reader's difficulties in understanding the text. The translator's attention to the heritage of previous translators could reduce some of the translation problems.

Manzello’s encounter with the nature of historical cognition and the quality of its achievement on the two epistemological horizons of modernism and postmodernism in the light of the three historical approaches of reconstructionism, constructivism, and deconstructionism in the transition from modernism to postmodernism, with the subtle difference between the two concepts of "historian" and the “history-researcher” is considered to be examined. The historian who lives in the discourse space of the realization of the historical subject, immersed in modern conditions, experiences and compels the resulting comprehension of history and creates historical documents. The “history-researcher” lives in the contemporary discourse space and thinks in accordance with the structural and discourse requirements of his time and communicates with history. The history-researcher, both in the sense of reconstruction-construction and in the sense of deconstruction, presents his narrative in the light of narration and passing through events. A detailed description of the above-mentioned three approaches is considered in Manzello's book entitled “Deconstruction of History”, which is examined in both negative and positive aspects.

The history of silent cinema is, in one sense, a record of the struggles, sufferings, victories, and failures that have been instrumental in achieving what we know today as cinema and its rules and attributes. It is also about the historical narratives that have been polished and expanded our understanding of the silent era over time. This book is a combination of two separate books by Liam Olieri and Paul Schroder Rodriguez, a concise, compelling narrative of those early years. The first book, by Liam Olivier, is dedicated to the history of silent cinema in Western countries, and the second, written by Paul Rodrigues, analyses the history of that time in Latin America. This article attempts to look at the omissions and shortcomings of the book in the Persian version to show which parts of it are repetitive and inconsistent and which ones are useful, fresh, and informative for readers.

The art of play is the result of human social life, more than any other type of art in relation to social man, and accordingly, its connection with the new civilization can be emphasized more than other components. In the new era, the play is one of the most important topics for critical discussions, whether as a text or as a collection of narratives performed by actors on stage to the extent that the critical and historical books of this type of art have a wide range of the oldest types of art. One of the most recent works of this kind is Nashat 'al-Masrah fi al-Mashreq, (The Emergence of Theater in the East), whose author has studied the origin and evolution of this art in the Orient, focusing on Lebanon and Syria, Turkey and Iran. The article intends to provide a critical reading of it by adopting a descriptive method, and the results show that although the value of the book in question is small, the author has been able to use accurate methods in reviewing the evolution of the work as a historical-analytical book by using reliable documents and sources.

The purpose of this article is to evaluate the book “History and Social Theory”, translated by Gholamreza Jamshidiha. A general introduction of the work and a brief summary of it is presented after introducing and reviewing the necessity and background in this area. In the next section, formal, content, methodological, and translation evaluation is done. In this article, the original and translated text have been compared together, and its strengths and weaknesses have been extracted. The results showed that this book has many positive characteristics. The content of the book is compatible with basic assumptions because logically, the author has shown that history is part of sociology and sociology is part of the social sciences, so it can be concluded, like the author, that history is also part of the social sciences and is not inconsistent with Islamic values and religious principles. In terms of the volume of materials, information and knowledge transmitted, students and beginners unfamiliar with these sciences can make a lot of historical use of this book. Therefore, this book can be suggested as a source of tuition and utilization of its reliable resources for undergraduate and postgraduate students in the fields of sociology and history. The existence of more than 600 valuable historical and sociological sources in the bibliography is another very valuable point in this book. Also, the smooth and short translation of the heavy text and the main thaqil (regardless of its objection) is another strength of this book. However, the book does not match the latest headlines approved by the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology as the main book in the teaching of academic courses and is educational assistance book. The lack of result at the end of each chapter keeps the reader confused. Logical coherence is very weak in the content of each chapter and between the contents of different seasons. Eliminating some of the bugs in translation, editorial and editorial defects can add to the richness of work. Intra-modal corrections, especially for reader’s easier access to resources and to the day-to-day source of work, are fundamental issues that hope to be corrected in the next edition.

In this paper, it is attempted to review the Persian version of the book and that the methodological synthetic approach taken by its author about the historical order and the variables of such interpretation on the history.

The book “History, Culture &Civilization of Iran in the Buyid Dynasty” by Sadegh Hojjati is a detailed and relatively fluent account of the history of Iran and the Islamic world at the climax of Islamic civilization, which many scholars do not work on that period because of scarcity and Arabic linguistic references. The author appropriately organized the book into two parts: a political history (including ten chapters) and culture and civilization (including five chapters) and produced an acceptable work. But, neglecting some of the earlier sources and new research, not addressing some of the important issues such as religious politics and other aspects of foreign associations and some of the problems of segmentation or references in many paragraphs, various criteria in writing, and some inadequate judgments and probably inaccurate damaged the book to some extent. This article discusses the pros and cons of this book.

As the concern and ambiguity that a historian has extracted from the subject under study and attempts to explain and interpret it, this issue can be articulated in two ways: one aspect of the issue that is strongly intertwined with the subject and past time considerations is how the issue is realized. This aspect involves the disability and the process of realization of the issue and can be considerable in the light of the knowledge and expertise of the historian and other specialist historians in the age of study, but the causal aspect of the issue that deals with the cause of it is a category specifically associated with the subjective knowledge and ideas related to the considerations of the historian’s life and shows the status quo of the historian’s ecosystem whether in design or in response. The applied aspects of the knowledge of history and the interplay of past and present in the research of the historian, and the interdisciplinary nature of his research emerge in this aspect of the issue. This aspect, according to the historian’s past-oriented or modernist approach to the design, directs the reason for historical research. In this article, with a brief reflection on the status of the issue and the nature of its design, we examine the two approaches in explaining and designing the issue, and we reflect on their relevance to the effectiveness of historians’ research achievements.

The present paper, paying attention to the relation between «history» and «historiography» concepts, aims to review the internal and external features of the book "Persian Historiography to the End of the Twelfth Century" which is authored by Julie Scott Meisami. Meisami studies and interprets historiographical insights of historians of the Samanid and Ghaznavid and Seljuks era from her point of view, and subject which has been elaborated by her in process of evaluation of Persian historiography. But, the point is that how much this researcher of history and literature arena could perceive the historiographical discourse of Iran in middle age, and her book came up with new horizon in historiography arena. Meisami's book has been criticized with positive and negative approaches together and from all aspects follows dynamic of history science. Thus, besides introducing the book’s subjects and expressing the surveying position, the purpose is to criticize its subjects. The problem is to see whether Meisami has methodical approaches in drafting and surveying, and if the answer is positive, how much she was committed to methodological and epistemological bases.

For many years, scholars such as theologists, linguists, and archaeologists have been studying Zoroastrian religion from the beginning. These studies provide us with valuable knowledge of this religion and its believers. However, there are still scholars who are trying to clarify the occasional, not very clear, cornerstones of this religion in different periods. Scholars spoke only on the basis of historical texts as well as the Zoroastrian religious texts not so long ago, so archaeological excavations and research have now come to help the scholars to shed light on this religion over time. One of the most important books in this regard that uses historical and religious texts and archaeological findings is Zoroastrianism: An Introduction written by Jenny Rose. This book was published in 2011 and reprinted in 2012 and 2014 by I.B.Tauris Publisher. Jenny Rose is a researcher of religion, and her research profile is indicative of her extensive research in Iranian religion, and this work is a proof of many years of her work on religion. As the name of the book indicates, it an introduction to Zoroastrianism, so it not comprehensive, and some criticisms were leveled against it.
