Criticism and study of literary works, especially those that deal with specific types of literary types and have gained a lot of acceptability among linguists, is of great value. In the meantime, reviewing and criticizing valuable works such as "Mjm'a Al'amthal" Book by Abolfazl Meydani, which was written in the early periods of compiling Arabic literature, to prevent the change, distortion, and destruction of the valuable heritage of proverbs, to collect, describe and explaining such language becomes double. In this regard, the present study intends to provide a more profound and scientific knowledge of this valuable work in structural critique and the descriptive-analytical method. Existence of a coherent plan in arranging this work and paying attention to the expertise and scientific and linguistic ability of the author in framing the internal structure, selection, description, and explanation of proverbs using Quranic evidence, poems, narrations, stories, lexical dictionaries, show the strength of the scientific and citation aspect of the book and a unique style and awareness in arranging the book following the diversity of tastes of the audience and it has justified ignorance of some shortcomings of this work. It has made it a unique work among its peers using its linguistic and cultural backgrounds in strengthening the linguistic, historical, and cultural heritage of the Arab people.

The book The Science of Literary Society written by Anwar Abdul Hamid Al-Musa is one of the recent works in which the author comprehensively deals with the emergence and growth of literary sociology from the beginning to the present day. As well as a chapter on Arabic works in this area, their critique is also given. In order to introduce this book, we decided to examine this work based on a descriptive analytical method from both formal and content aspects to finally reveal the advantages and disadvantages and the success rate of the author in writing this work. Based on the results, we can consider the psychological and eloquent style, observance of writing rules, fit of the content with the title and logical sequence between the contents, strength and accuracy and neutrality in the analyses and critiques, among the advantages of this book. Type and size of fonts, lack of novelty in the title and its generality, failure to achieve the purpose of research, mere collection of materials, inappropriate and unscientific citation method, repetition and content, non-problematic work, bias in quoting content and conclusion, and being inadequate, are considered among the most important flaws and shortcomings of this work.

Content critique of scientific texts and structural analysis of available resources in the field of humanities is as complex as the main nature of this concept. This factor, along with unfamiliarity with the basics of critique and the culture of critically in society, has made the critique of published books and texts of philosophy of art and theoretical foundations less done and not accepted. However, criticism in all its structures and types is the most important and effective method for the growth and promotion of human knowledge and today in the most prestigious scientific, academic, and research circles in the world and developed countries to the extent that criticism and its principles are considered maybe they don't care about producing new sciences. The book “Interaction of Language and Art”, which is the result of symposiums of a number of experts in the field of culture, art, literature, and philosophy of the country, was published in 2000 by the Research Institute of Islamic Culture and Art. The book is available to readers with thematic content in the fields of art, literature, and architecture, including fourteen articles. In this article, while introducing the book, reviewing the motivation for holding this symposium and its content structure, an attempt is made to take a critical look at the thematic content of each article.

A Persian translation of the book The Politics of Writing in Iran: A History of Modern Persian Literature, written by Dr. Kamran Talattof from Arizona University, has recently been published in Iran, and is currently a textbook in some Iranian universities and is taught for the courses of ‘Contemporary Persian Poetry’ and ‘Contemporary Persian Prose’ at the undergraduate level and also for the course of ‘Contemporary Persian Poetry’ at the postgraduate level. In addition to analyzing the form and content of the book, the writers of the present article try to examine the new theory that Talattof has proposed through integrating contemporary Western theoretical approaches and specific features of contemporary Iranian society and literature. His book sheds light on the mutual relationship between politics and contemporary literature and society of Iran. The Politics of Writing in Iran examines methodically and unprecedentedly the impact of different ideologies on literary movements, and accordingly arranges the literary products of the last one hundred years into several movements, arguing that each of these movements is an ‘episode’ and thus the whole modern Persian literature is ‘episodic’. The theoretical approach of Talattof’s book rests on this premise that ideological paradigms have determined the manner of writing literary works in Iran in the past hundred years. The present article offers not only a short overview of the literary historiographic attempts in Iran in the last one hundred years, but also a brief account of the Western theories of literary historiography in the last few decades. In the end, the relation and correspondence of the book’s theory of ‘episodic literary movements’ and the theory of ‘Iran as a short-term society’ is highlighted.

L’Histoire des relations entre l’Iran et la France Du Moyen Âge à nos jours (The history of Iranian-French relations from the Middle Ages to the present) is a book that describes the ups and downs of the history of Iran-France relations from its starting point in connection with the French court with the Mongol kings in Iran in the Middle Ages, until 2018, when it was published in France by L’Harmattan Publications. This book is the first work written in French by an Iranian researcher on Iran-France relations. On the other hand, in some cases, the Iranian approach towards these relations has damaged the reading of this book, and it quotes these relations in French from the Iranian point of view, which includes the historical references. This can confuse the international audience with confusion and misunderstanding of the time of the events. The author pays more attention to the political and cultural aspects of the relations between the two countries and has almost ignored the economic aspects of recent decades. Some writing considerations, such as spelling, grammar, and punctuation, as well as the unity of the way certain nouns are written, need to be reviewed in this work, which can make the book a valuable reference after revision.

Selecting the book tailored for criticism and theory lessons is a challenge for the professors, affecting class success and students' sense of satisfaction. This course is offered to students in different academic disciplines in Iran, and therefore, a proper book to teach this course is needed in the academic publication market in Iran. In this market, there are numerous books, most of which are translations of English-language texts. Since the course Criticism and Theory are among the most difficult lessons for students, selecting the right book can reduce the burden on the students and professors. In the present article, the author compares the Rutledge's Literary Criticism and Cultural Theory Handbook edited by Simon Malpas and Paul Vick with some examples of English criticism in English language and literature to illustrate the strengths and weaknesses of this book, and evaluate in terms of educational value. It also presents suggestions for making it applicable in the classroom. Eventually, the author believes that the Rutledge's Literary Criticism and Cultural Theory Handbook is a considerable book for teaching the course Criticism and Theory, and a proper translation can meet the needs of other disciplines.

Iran and Ottaman history have always had a lot in common regarding history, culture, and religion. Being neighbor and vast common borders, having same religions, having a lot in common regarding language, literature , and Art caused the two nations have mutual effects in each other’s history.Ottoman Turkish with a lot of derivations (borrowings) from Persian and Arabic words is classified as one of the Islamic languages which had been the official language of Ottoman emperor at the old times. Considering the historiography, during the long period of having relationship with Iran, the Ottoman historians have written about Iran issues and events briefly or in detail, due to the fact that the two countries are neighbors, have similar language and interim developments. To historians such works are of value and worth consideration. In Qajar era, especially at the time of Nasser al-Din Shah (during Nasser al-Din Shah Reign) some of these works have been translated into Persian, among them are such works as Hamidi Hitory translated by Ali Gholi Khan, Biography of Sultan Abdul Hamid and the situation of the Ottoman Empire during his reign, translated by Mohammad Hassan Khan Etemad ol-Saltaneh. Ever since the tradition of translating Ottaman history texts didn’t blossom, and was neglected.Because of such background and the fact that researches about Ottoman basically lack a rich literature, it is necessary to recognize the well known works and main and authentic sources in historiography of Ottoman, and particularly historiography of Iran and Ottoman relations, and translate them into Persian. In that case all the needed materials for deep bilateral research will be provided. This study, aims at introducing literature in the field of translating history texts from Ottoman to Persian in the last two decades, and the selected works and sources with a glance at the reasons. At the end some suggestions and strategies for reaching this goal is presented.
