Modern Arabic literature, because of its important role in transferring the contemporary culture and thoughts of Arabs, enjoys a special status in the curriculum of Arabic language and literature majors in Iranian universities. As a result, to introduce contemporary Arabic literature, various courses entitled contemporary Arabic poetry and prose have been offered at different educational levels. Besides, to achieve this goal, many books and textbooks have been written in Iran and in the Arab world. Undoubtedly, criticizing and reviewing these books is a major step in fulfilling the objectives of teaching contemporary literary texts. Therefore, the present study intends to evaluate the book Al-Adab Al-Arabi Al-Hadith; … authored by Muhammad Saleh Alshanti, using a descriptive-analytical approach. While introducing the book, the article tried to address both its strong points and weaknesses in two domains of form and content. The findings indicate that with regard to form, the book suffers from certain shortcomings such as lack of defining terms, using personal judgments in analyses, compiling rather than composing, mixing didactic and critical issues, and incoherence of literary approaches.

Due to the time frame of the so-called contemporary period, the production of abundant poetry and the presence of poets in Arab countries and Arab poets in other countries of the world, it is very difficult to approach contemporary poetry in the form of a book and the template of the thoughts of a research author. Based on his views, contemporary scholar and critic Hassan Ebas has presented some of the approaches of contemporary poetry in the form of a book and has analyzed and criticized those approaches and tried to present most of his critical views in those analyzes. Mention some. In-depth reading of these approaches raises questions such as: Why did the author present these five approaches, and why did each of them have a uniform analysis, and the following sub-headings were not categorized? Undoubtedly, today, the design of contemporary Arabic poetry approaches, considering its breadth, requires a new effort with a new style so that contemporary poetry can be criticized from different dimensions.

The translation critique has its place in the scientific community in our contemporary world, since the correct criticism corrects and revises the translation and makes a clear mirror for the translator to see the pros and cons of his work, Because of this place, the present paper seeks to provide a critical analysis of Sayyed Hosein Sayyedis translation Entitled ““Contemporary Arabic Poetry, Its Issues and Its Artistic and Moral Phenomena” that is compiled by “Ezzoddin Ismaeil”. This critical analysis is based on the descriptive analytical approach, divided into two parts, a section dealing with content, and we are concerned in this section with the original text because the translation did not benefit us, and the other section deals with how to translate in terms of meaning and structure. The results of this research show that the issues of the book are both comprehensive and fresh book although it was published years ago. Besides, it has some flaws in the research methodology. Additionally, in terms of translation, the book is full of translation errors and semantic errors, especially in the translation of poems.
