Without addressing the classics in anthropology education, current Iranian academic education pays less attention to these basic works in anthropology. This article tries to analyze and critique the book Aesthetics of Photography, according to set criteria. Francois Soulages, the author of this book, is an experienced professor in the field of aesthetics and philosophy of art in France. The book has an acceptable quality of print and published. There are few typographical errors, fluent prose, and footnotes, references, indexes, and bibliographies. Despite a few minor flaws, the book sounds well. The translation of the book to Persian is also fine. Thematic variety and proper distribution of the book's contents in three general sections and 12 chapters have been done very cleverly. In terms of content, the book has been able to challenge the issues related to the aesthetics of photography from different perspectives and useful case studies. By constantly using the method of dialectical reasoning between conventional and unconventional metrics (in terms of type and time), Soulages has done very well in understanding the concepts of contemporary photographic aesthetics from the standpoint of a French expert and has been able to provide a useful perspective on contemporary aesthetic effects. The introduction of some influential photographers of late is also one of the desirable contributions of the book. The book contains very useful information for the university photography community in our country.

Except for a few hints in Encyclopedia Britannica's article, he did not write anything in this area. However, he paved the way for the phenomenology of art and led many post-Husserlian phenomenologists to look at art from a phenomenological perspective. This article aims to show the application of the phenomenological method in aesthetics and analysis of works of art. To achieve this, we will first refer briefly to the ideas of M.Dufrenne (who is somewhat faithful to Husserl's intellectual tradition) to reveal to him how the phenomenology of aesthetic experience. Then according to Heidegger's views (which are further from Husserl's tradition), we will examine in the phenomenological analysis of art to see how Hermeneutic phenomenology can re-establish the neglected relationship between truth and art.

Reviewing the Persian translation of Umberto Eco’s “Art and Beauty in the Middle Ages” (translated by Faride Mahdavi Damghani), is the subject of this article. The article does not concentrate on evaluating the original book, which is widely acknowledged by those who are involved in this field, and just outlines its subjects, chapters, and also its importance. In order to review the translation, the first 25 pages of the Persian text have been checked against the English one, which is introduced as the source of translation, and the errors have been divided into four categories and in each case, in addition to an explanation, the suggested translation is provided, too. The large quantity of errors is eloquent of the necessity for a serious revision to the translation of such an important book, which is usually used as a source by students and those who are interested in art and aesthetic studies.

The interpretation of the Tree of Life is made with symbolism and mythology. This view is included in the book ID (first page of the book). The symbolic form of the tree of life is similar to the view of religions and rituals. Artists use Bible texts to illustrate the tree of life. The ancient pattern of the tree of life is associated with religious descriptions in monotheistic religions. The important thing is that the Archetype of the Tree of Life has influenced the thoughts and works of different artists from different times and styles and nations. Roger Cook, the author of this book, has been well versed in collecting a coherent set of artwork related to the ancient pattern of the tree of life, and this is a very important and sensible issue. In fact, the significance of the issue is the effect of an archetype in a common visual culture among all peoples and nations. The archetype of the tree of life, described in the religious literature, has been specially imparted in the minds and works of the arts of various artists from the classical and romantic style to the postmodern. It is interesting to conceive of a metaphysical and mystical idea by artists of nations, styles, and times. Here are some questions: 1- What is the relation between the tree in mystical thoughts and the tree in myth? 2- What steps has the tree symbol undergone in transforming from myth to art? This article is composed of library and documentary studies in a comparative study of religious literature and artwork of various nations and thus enters the analysis and description of the tree of life.

The Ernest Cassirer Symbolist Philosophy was one of the most important systematic philosophical thoughts of the twentieth century, which did not spread as many times as it deserved and was not introduced in principle. One of these reasons was the lack of author’s conclusive work on his philosophy. But at the end of his life, he wrote a book for English speakers, which is an entry into this thinking. The book, An Essay on Man, was translated from French translation to Persian. This book was important because of an independent chapter on art which the philosopher did not have time to review. The present article intends to correct the mistakes by reviewing the Persian text with the English text of the chapter and provide a small field for understanding this valuable and succinct chapter. So, there is no intention of criticizing the translator and only to facilitate the understanding of the topic for the Persian speaker.

The book of Ethics, Law, and Politics includes the translation of the essays by famous German philosopher Arthur Schopenhauer. The various sections of the book encompass concrete issues that Schopenhauer has, like any other philosopher, expounded on the basis of his ontological and epistemological foundations. In this paper, we try to survey his ontological, epistemological, and methodological foundations, as well as the relation between the conditions and the context of his personal and social life with his thoughts, to understand his most important concerns. Also, while referring to the structure of this book in terms of its form and content, the relation of our current world to the Schopenhauer's thoughts and reflections is analyzed briefly. An important issue in Schopenhauer's political and social ideas is the role of blind and aimless will as the ontological basis of his views, which has led to a bitter insight toward man and political life. However, he places great emphasis on human life, especially on ethics as a relationship between human beings and the art. So, despite his pessimistic and tragic point of view, he is trying to provide a clear vision of life.

One of the main functions of the educational system the implementation of which at schools and educational centers of the country is confronted with various difficulties and misunderstandings is art education of students. Obviously, art education has positive and constructive effects for students, so it should not have a subordinate or marginal role in curriculum, and close attention should be paied to it in the educational system of the country. However, over the past few years, some scientific and research efforts have been made to introduce and recognize the status of art education and the need to pay close attention to it in the educational system of the country. Writing a book titled “Art Curriculum and Instruction in Education” is one of these scientific endeavors. In this article, the book has been reviewed and criticized. The strengths and weaknesses of its content and form were also specified. In sum, in terms of the structure and type of organizing the contents, characteristics of writing, the design of the basic issues of art education, explanation of its role and necessity, especially from its cognitive and non-cognitive results, as well as determining the role and place of the main elements of curriculum in art education, this book has necessary strengths. On the other hand, in terms of the number and extent of its repetition and the similarity of its content with some other works of the authors, the vagueness of parts of the content, the use of translated articles and the lack of attention to the realities of art education in the Iranian educational system, this book has some deficiencies. Definitely, the elimination of these disadvantages will increase the effectiveness of this book.

Christopher Shields’ Aristotle in Routledge Philosopher series is one of the most recent introductions to Aristotle’s philosophy in general. Shields’ intention in this book is not to be comprehensive in dealing with Aristotle’s views in every field. Rather, he believes that Aristotle is a highly systematic philosopher with an explanatory framework to employ in different fields of theoretical, practical and productive sciences. Hence, Shield’s main concern is first to explicate this explanatory framework and then to show how Aristotle uses it in the above mentioned sciences. Also, in each chapter Shields tries to clearly reveal how Aristotle’s metaphysics is based on his views in physics, and his views in psychology on those in physics and metaphysics, his views in ethics and politics on those in his main theoretical sciences, and finally his views in rhetoric and arts on those on both theoretical and practical science, thereby showing his system of thought. Furthermore, instead of locating Aristotle in his historical and philosophical background, Shields tries to present him from a modern perspective, justifying why Aristotle thought the way he thought about change, matter and form, substance, existence.
