The book “Al-Balaqah wa Al-Tahlil”, written by Antoine Masoud Al-Bostani, is one of the ten course books on rhetoric taught at the universities of Arab countries as well as those of Iran, which has recently been chosen for teaching at BA,MA levels, and even at some departments which do not have special science of rhetoric. It is axiomatic that its strong and weak points like many other course books are inevitable. Our experience in teaching the book at both BA and MA levels has showed that we have most often resolved the students’ problems towards the book. Unlike “Al-Balaqah Al-Wazehah” and “Jawaher Al-Balaqah” by Ahmad Hashemi, the book has not been successful among other rhetoric books. However, applying a few changes to the content and the exercises of each section makes it different. The present article has been written in line with such an issue so that it will become useful for both readers and the academic books authors.

The book "Analytical Approach to Rhetoric" is one of the recently-published scholarly textbooks in the field of rhetoric that, while relying on the basics of traditional rhetoric, has attempted to use new approaches in this field as well. Moreover, the critical aspect and the approach of this book to review the most prevalent issues in the field of rhetoric, which have been stated in previous sources as well as its attempt to provide a detailed investigation of some of them, absolutely justify the title of this book. The shortcomings of this book are categorized into general and specific ones. The general ones include some problems such as print mistakes and typos, the lack of literature review and the method of referencing and bibliography whereas the specific ones comprise those flaws which appeared in relation to the subject and structure of this book. There are some cases like improper selection of evidence and misreading of them that sometimes have led to false analysis and recognition of rhetorical principles. In this critique, the weak coherence of the book in managing the discussion as well as evidence and categorizing the content has been pointed out, and also its mundane verbosity and unnecessary brevity has been discussed.

The purpose of this article is to evaluate lessons of Arabic rhetoric toward a new idea from two perspectives: Efficiency level in rhetoric as well academic education. The method of analysis is analytic and descriptive. The paper aims to analyze the positive and negative aspects of the book by first reporting the context of the book. In addition, it aims to show AlAzhar’s book view for academic tuition all over the world. The results of this research show the book "Lessons of Arabic Rhetoric toward a New Idea", has compounded classic rhetoric with modern masterful rhetoric discovery. However, the frame of the book turns around classic rhetoric. This book can be taught in basic levels (BA) as a main source and in high levels (MA) as a derivative source. Although the writer has done his best, he has not paid attention to some classic rhetoric discussions.

Critical analysis of written several books on various subjects and fields is an important and necessary rule of the critics. One of the most important areas of research is rhetoric that is still considered by many researchers. It is one of the updated and significant areas of research which attracts the attention of many researchers, so it should be reviewed academically and orderly research and books that should be reviewed properly. Accordingly, a critical review of the book "Philosophy of Rhetoric" by Raja Eid the full Professor of the University Banha, Egypt, as the main issue of this study is selected. The important findings of this research, which are based on interpretive-critical view, show that the respected author has tried to criticize the old rhetoric and look at them with a new look, but it does not seem that much of this work has been successful in considering logical classifications, philosophical and discursive discussions.

Semantics examines the effective ways of language application, and rhetoricians try to teach the eloquence skills to others and perceive the mystery of the eloquent speech by extracting the effective principles of utterance. The premise of Persian Dari rhetoric books is based on the translation of Arabic rhetorical books with several inserted Persian examples, and has long been quoted the same as a few frequent old examples of the deceased, which indicates that the authors do not properly understand the rhetoric. In this article, the book "Rhetoric 1 (semantics)", which is the textbook of the largest university in the country, Payame Noor, was criticized and evaluated in terms of form, content, methodology and theory. Among the merits of the book, it is possible to mention the topics of semantics on the basis of the Persian grammar categories. Among its defects, it is possible to mention the imposition of the rules of Arabic rhetoric on Persian language, the disregard for the dynamics of language, the appropriation of semantics to literary language, the old black or white (biased) attitude towards Rhetoric, lack of attention to the work’s wholeness and inattentiveness to the oral and auditory aspects of language.

The eloquence such as grammar and syntax were created, at first, for understanding the secrets and mysteries of holy Quran and its rhetorical miracle aspects by considering the Quran and also the ignorance verses; but they were gradually applied in other poetry and prose in Arabic texts and compiled in the forms of coherent rules and finally this process caused the existence of valuable books. One of these valuable books was Javaher Al-balaghah, written by Sayyed Ahmad Hashemi, which was used as the best textbooks in teaching the eloquence. Hence it has been published many times. In spite of what is mentioned, the book, similar to any other human written works, has some defects and inaccuracies. It is investigated and shown in the present article that some of definitions and the expressions of the book are insufficient or inaccurate according to educational courses of old books in the field of Arabic eloquence in the three title of eloquence-simile, metonymy and allegory. The investigation illustrated that the writer, in case of rhetorical subjects, did not define some expressions but the major inaccuracies and deficiencies of the book are related to the writer’s examples in which the readers can realize his negligence even after a little thinking and comparing to the other testifiers of the book.
