The works written about Russia are few and mostly have literary, political, journalistic, or security genres. The book “Society and Culture of Russia” has tried to have a general and comprehensive look at the topic of culture in Russian society, which has received less attention in Russian studies. After introducing the book and the author, this article has criticized and analyzed the author's attention to the topic of Russian society and culture. For this purpose, the background and origin of the work have been examined, then with internal structural criticism, the degree of coherence and logical order of the work and its appearance, grammatical and typographical problems have been analyzed. It also deals with its methodology and also explains its content strengths. In the following, extra-structural (basic) criticism of the book is made, and after analyzing and checking the degree of harmony of the contents of the work with its assumed principles and foundations and stating the existing strengths and contradictions, the degree of connection and challenge of the contents of the work with religious and Islamic foundations and principles is discussed.

Moral psychology is one of the emerging disciplines in interdisciplinary studies in the field of moral philosophy and psychology. Moral psychology seeks to bridge the boundaries of science and philosophy in the field of psychology and ethics. The Righteous Mind: Why Good People Are Divided by Politics and Religion? by Jonathan Haidt is one of the most influential works in this field. In this paper, the authors have tried to bring the boundaries of psychology and ethics closer to each other. Haidt seeks to suggest a way of thinking about two divisive issues in human life: politics and religion. For this purpose, he has used the available resources in the fields of philosophy, moral philosophy, psychology, social sciences, and genetics. Much of the book's data is lived and experienced by the author himself. This has made the present book an excellent one in the field of psychology and ethics, especially in the field of moral intuitionism and social intuitionism. The author believes that understanding and empathizing with the political and religious views of others or, in his words, validating the moral matrices of others, eliminates divisions between people. Due to its very simple language, coherent and empirical analyzes, this book can be made available to the general public, both academics and non-academics.

Hence, religion and knowledge are among the subject matters of fundamental rights in the Iranian as well as the French revolution. Each of the two revolutions has enjoyed the concept of faith and ideology to such an extent that they have influenced various areas and arenas after the revolution. Therefore, this paper is based on the hypothesis that the two revolutions of 1789 and 1979, one being against religion and the other for it, have had similar impacts on culture and in particular public understanding. The basis of the theory of secularism is that as modernity progresses (a set of phenomena including science, technology, and rational forms of authority), the influence of religion gradually diminishes, but Charles Taylor argues that the modern world not only hasn’t destroyed religion, but also in many cases, has led to its growth and development. The book The Secular Age is a detail of his views on secularism. Taylor talks about situations in the past where belief in God was pervasive, but things developed in such a way that belief in God became an option among other options. He describes the process of spreading secularism in the new West and what has happened to religion. In this process, for the religious, "God" and for the non-religious, "reason" describes perfection. This article, with a brief look at Taylor's work, examines the movement of the West (Western Europe and North America) from religious societies to secular societies, and after analyzing Taylor's theory of secularism, critiques and summarizes his ideas.

This article reviews the book The Relationship between Religion and Technology. The main effort of the book, as the author himself states, is to study the interaction of technology and religion in the context of the Islamic worldview, as well as to present a theory for achieving Islamic technology. The present article first examines the main concern of the book and its place among other publications of the author. Then the research methodology of the book author will be assessed. Finally, a detailed evaluation of the author's project on Islamic technology will be presented. The claim of this article is that the book does not succeed in achieving a coherent theory about Islamic technology, and this effort needs to be modified and completed. In fact, the author's view focuses on the intentions of the designers and users of technological artifacts, not on the structure and physical properties of the artifacts, and thus the concept of "religious technology" is reduced to what the author calls "non-religious technology" (as opposed to anti-religious).

The book “Religion and Theory of International Relations: Theory and Practice” is a collection of articles compiled and translated into Persian by Asgar Ghahramanpour Bonab from scattered articles and journals by Daniel Filpat and several other researchers of international relations. By compiling these articles, the translator has attempted to address the important role of religion in shaping international relations in the Westphalian period and by evaluating its position among various mainstream and minor theories of international relations such as realism, liberalism, and constructivism, he has explored the function of different world religions such as Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, and Judaism, both in inciting civil strife and converging, and in uniting and strengthening the world peace. Given the importance of familiarity with different types of religions, as well as their historical role in the formation of societies and their developments, especially in the contemporary period, this article examines and evaluates this book and tries to recommend some formal as well as content revisions on translation, equivalence, and references. The authors of the articles, as well as the translator, seem to have neglected to observe the prevailing modern situation of the separation of religion from politics and the marginalized religion in contemporary international relations.

Although more than two decades have passed since the publication of the first edition of The Logical Relationship between Religion and Applied Sciences, this book is still one of the most coherent and accurate works, showing the position of this intellectual current. The author of the book has tried to show the position of the Academy of Islamic Sciences on these issues, considering the academic literature on topics such as science, technology, and development. So, this book was regarded for proper introduction and critique. In this article, we have shown that the author of the book does not have much control over the latest controversies in the field of science and religion studies - even in contemporary Iran. Today’s controversy, which has challenged European-Christian hegemony based on the study of science and religion, could open a new space for a different view of the relationship between religion, culture, and technology. Therefore, it is expected that the author will write the second edition of the book, considering the latest achievements of contemporary scientology and theology.

The role and position of religion in human political and social life is an issue that must be analyzed for its importance. To address this issue, the present paper looks at one of the most important works in this field, the book The Christianity and Democracy by Jacques Maritain of the French neotomist philosopher. In this work, Maritain has defended democracy by referring to Christianity. Of course, this type of defense is not free of criticism, and Maritain’s work also tragically looks at contemporary democracies. It is clear that the relationship between “religion and democracy” is not limited to Jacques Maritan’s thought, and many thinkers in various intellectual paradigms have addressed this issue. It is also not just about Christianity, and it is one of the most significant topics in the Muslim world. The author has attempted to discuss Jacques Maritain’s theoretical model of the relationship of Christianity and democracy from a political, philosophical, and theological perspective.

This paper is going to criticize the book: Kant's Practical Philosophy from Critique to Doctrine written by Gray Banham by using a descriptive-analytic method based on writer's interpretation of this work, and it aims to indicate that although this book is a new reading of Kant's practical philosophy, it has some significant problems by itself. Some of these problems include the unclearness of the text, the selectivity of the discussions, the lack of conclusion at the end of each chapter, the excessive compression and the extension of the discussed subjects. Moreover, the author of this article will introduce the structure of the Kant's Practical Philosophy from Critique to Doctrine and explain its advantages, the most important of which include the special attention of Banham to the relation between Kant's different works and the philosophical process of Kant’s thought in the practical philosophy (from critical works to doctrinal works), and investigate those works of Kant which were less considered (specially by Iranian Kant scholars), and consider the opposition of Banham with the accepted viewpoint of most interpreters of Kant’s practical Philosophy (formalistic interpretation) and his formulating a new interpretation of it (teleological interpretation).
