In its form, the book looks into the basic relations between the form and subject in analyzing art forms and shows analyzing and interpreting artworks according to their historical context in which they originated and the multiplicity of visual and textual sources which refers to the artworks. By the way, in some cases missing references are seen and the order in using them in the text is not also correct and reliable references are needed, especially sources of Islamic philosophy which have caused some limitations in using the book in some related conditions. Despite these problems, researchers can go further than a mere Formal study by using interdisciplinary and in order to make an understanding about Symbolic Meaning and Contents of artworks, they can have fruitful research.

Literary criticism has been considered as one of the branches of research in the field of literature for a long time and has always been used as a method for analyzing, evaluating, and correcting literary texts. This branch of human knowledge nowadays, in view of the breadth and variety of literary productions, requires the use of most scientific findings to strengthen its ability and ability to perform its tasks. It is also noteworthy that these works are also subject to critique and evaluation from time to time. In this regard, the present paper seeks to examine a critique of Arabic language and literature with an analytical-critical reading. The book “Research in Contemporary Arabic Literature” by Mohammad Mostafa Hadara, is a book that has been considered in this article, while presenting a brief account of the contents of the book, we should mention the positions of strength and weakness in two categories of form and content. The results show that the book contains useful information and is well versed in considering two parts of poetry and prose, but it seems that due to the lack of a scientific method in criticizing and not following some principles accepted in this area, it is suggested that some some fundamental changes be made

It explicates their merits and disadvantages; therefore, it paves the way for improving the design of educational materials. Naeim Amouri’s Literary Criticism attempts to introduce theories and approaches of literary criticism to the students of Arabic Literary Studies. Employing descriptive-analytical and statistical methods, this article aims to evaluate the content and structure of Naeim Amouri’s Literary Criticism. The findings convey that the author is more successful when it comes to the book’s structural organization. The accurate use of terminology, critical in-depth analysis of theories, and their practical applications could have improved the structural organization and content of this textbook.

Translation Criticism[WU1] : “The Arabic Textbook for Teaching Translation of Books and Newspaper”[1]The study and criticism of the scientific works lead to the recognition of their characteristics and disadvantages; therefore, it results in avoiding shortcomings and emphasizing on the strong points. Undoubtedly, this will cause to improve the quality of the academic textbooks when the criticism is done clearly and constructively. Accordingly, and based on the request of the Iranian Council for Reviewing Books and Text on Human Sciences, the book titled: “The Arabic Textbook for Teaching Translation of Books and Newspaper” written by Adnan Tahmasebi has been criticized. The results of this study state that this book has some advantages and some disadvantages as well which are studied in the form and content. The advantages include preface, list of content, reliable resources, appropriate equivalences for some political and sport expressions, accuracy and fluency of the translation except in some cases which are discussed in detail. The lack of careful subject division, the shortage of suitable practices, none of notation, typing mistakes, hastiness, and lack of edition are the disadvantages of this book which result in many deficiencies in non-compatibility of the Persian Translation with the Arabic text. Finally, some suggestions are presented for the improvement of this work.[1] “Derâsat manhajiyye fi tarjomate al-sohof wa al-majallât”

Understanding the formation and the stages of progress of Arabic fiction literature and the factors affecting its progress requires detailed and comprehensive research, as its geographical and historical and thematic broadness makes its realization difficult. Therefore, each of the various books written on the subject has met part of the researchers' needs. In the meantime, it is necessary to mention different approaches to criticism in the researchers' analysis, because each of them has sought to adapt his approach in his analysis. Evaluating the al-Revayah al-Arabiah book written by Roger Allen indicated that the author used a historical-criticism approach in editing the book. The political and social situation of Arab countries in the twentieth century was first investigated, and then by presenting fictional examples the author attempted to explain the reading of these texts of situations. The challenge that faces the book is failure to follow a systematic approach in text analysis, which has made this book only partially responsive to the needs of scholars in the field of Arabic novel and therefore it cannot be introduced as a complete reference.

Ilmud-dilalah” (Semantics) by Ahmad Mukhtar Omar is among the books translated into Persian by Seyyed Hossein Seyyedi, a faculty member of Mashhad University. Considerable usage of the main and original research sources by the writer, and his command of the record of studies done in semantics in the Muslims’ old linguistic heritage have given the book a special position in the semantic studies, which makes its translation necessary. The cover design, typography, page layout, punctuations, and typographical errors of the translated book were considered in the examination of the form. Examination of the content of the translation focused on the faithfulness in translation of all parts of the book, faithfulness in full translation of the text, faithfulness in conveying the content, specialized terms, literal translation, explanatory footnotes, and the citation style. In this translation criticism which is based on a contrastive attitude, two categories of the options and limitations of the translator were examined, but the focus was more on the limitations. Examinations showed that the translation was done so hastily, and in practice just little scientific and literary revisions were done on it. It has caused a number of errors and shortcomings in this translation to be greater than the number of its advantages, and many parts of the book need to be translated again.

Abstract Education of the history of French literature constitutes a fundamental part of the undergraduate degree programs in French language and literature in the universities of Iran. Currently, the history of French literature and the interpretation of texts from nineteenth century are offered in the framework of two courses, each corresponding to four credit units. The books written by French literature specialists are usually used in the educational curriculum. These books characteristically contain excerpts of literary texts, used for both training purposes and further detailed studies. The introduction of outstanding authors in a historical order enables us to study their works in the continuum of a dynamic literature. A French literature book without literary texts would be imperfect, as the discussions and questions arising from these texts may contribute to the development of the critical and analytical way of thinking. In this review, we have evaluated the book entitled “History of French literature: the nineteenth century”, written by Roya Letafati and Bita Moazzami Farahani. This book, which was published in 1388 by the Samt publication institute, allegedly entails the above-mentioned characteristics. The authors not only present the history of literature, but also provide the biography and works of selected writers, as well as discussions regarding the literary criticism and methodology. In addition to literary texts, the authors have provided summaries and complementary exercises, at the end of the chapters. However, this book contains several imperfections both in form and content. In this review, we attempt to address the question how far this book will meet the demands of the students of the undergraduate degree programs in French language and literature in our country.
