‘Rethinking Social Justice’ emphasizes the intrinsicality of the moral value of justice and its precedence over other social values. The book's primary focus is on the conceptualization, reasons, and necessity of social justice without addressing the howness of the subject. This omission can be seen as a major flaw, for many justice-oriented challenges and conflicts arise in its howness. A major part of the book is devouted to reporting different theories of justice that are irrelevant to the Islamic theory of social justice. The book requires some Islamic humanities besides Sharia law and Fiqh to explain and implement justice. However, he does not go further to explain the relationship between the two. Reducing justice to a certain value alongside other values requires broader criteria to resolve conflicts between it and other values. This contradicts the book’s claim of justice as being comprehensive and absolute. Furthermore, the issues of social justice addressed by the book are not so much "social" in their nature but just "theoretical" and "mental" aspects. However, this book can be used to teach and familiarize students and teachers with certain theoretical challenges.

This research aims to introduce and critically analyze Khaldoun Hassan Al-Naqeeb's book. Al-Naqeeb, a Kuwaiti political sociologist, draws inspiration from Fernand Braudel's historical approach to explore the historical structure of the relationship between society and the state in the Persian Gulf and Arabian Peninsula. The book begins by examining the geography of the region, introducing the concept of the "natural state of economic life," and discussing the "cycle of tribal elites," which, through the synergy of commercial and tribal approaches, reveals the historical structure of developments in the region. With the advent of colonialism, the natural state and the cycle of tribal elites were disrupted, and tribal elites allied with colonial powers shaped the final form of the countries on the southern shores of the Persian Gulf through successive treaties. After the discovery of oil, rentier states in these countries transitioned into Authoritarian states with distinctive characteristics. At the end of the book, criticisms are raised, including determinism, inadequacy of documents, and an ideological perspective.

This paper reviews the ‘The Sociology of Literature’ by Diana Laurenson and Alan Swingewood. It is the second book with this title that has been published in Iran by SAMT within a period of a quarter of a century. The translation of the book is good and it looks interesting. The main problem with this book is its oldness. Based on an unwritten agreement in academic literature, the translation of old works implies that the author is a highly esteemed theorist or a reliable teacher of some theory. This book, which was published in 1970, falls under none of the above. In addition, the authors and the translator are in disagreement regarding the status of the book. The authors see the book as a suggestion for reading and researching and an introduction to a field in which there was not an integrated knowledge in the English-speaking literature. The translator sees the book as a great piece of work that has no parallel. However, the theoretical selection and historical summary of the book face criticism from two perspectives. First, both parts somehow are in contrast with the anti-positivism approach of the book: whether in the logic of selecting theorists and events or in the formation and presentation of contents. Second, the theoretical and methodical summary is inadequate. Overall, given the availability of a rich body of papers and books by thinkers from the sociology of literature, cultural sociology, critical theory, and interdisciplinary philosophy, this book does not seem a good choice for teaching.

There are many works about the moral behavior of Iranians. The genre of Iranian Temperament is a distinctive form of social literature that examines and catalogs the moral and behavioral traits of Iranians. Numerous works have been written under this genre. In this article, we have chosen one of Hassan Naraghi's books to examine and criticize the representation of Iranian moral behavior. We have criticized this book using the critical discourse analysis method based on van Dijk's model. The results of the research showed that in this work, Naraghi used many ideological strategies to represent the moral behaviors of Iranians. Naraghi criticizes Iranian behavior in light of self-critical discourse. Rather than describing the moral behavior of Iranians, he gives direction to it. According to Naraghi's representation, Iranians' undesirable moral behaviors are fourteen times more common than their desirable moral behaviors. Works of this genre ultimately claim that Iranians are inherently immoral and Westerners are inherently moral. Therefore, works of this genre should be criticized because, by unrealistically representing us Iranians, they can have negative identity consequences for society.

This article focuses on the article ‘Four Genealogies for a Recombinant Anthropology of Science and Technology’ by Michael Fisher, an American anthropologist and Iranologist, on the anthropology of science and technology from the 1930s to the present. He emphasizes the urgent need to pay attention to this area beyond public claims such as market alienation and the intellectual critique of modernity such as drowning in technology. In his analysis of the emergence of the techno-scientific worlds of the 21st century, the author repeatedly mentions Iran and its modern scientific and industrial centers after the Islamic Revolution of Iran until today. It is important to refer to the titles of science and technology study and research centers in Iran, to design modern research topics and fields for Iranian anthropologists in order to deeply understand the effects of these centers of industry and innovation on society and the world. The translation of Fisher's works in the recent period, despite the difficult prose and long sentences, is an urgent need of this branch of anthropology in Iran. Fisher's works, in terms of both phrasing and the use of specialized terms in basic and technical sciences, require translators from the field of anthropology of science and technology, or specialized teams consisting of anthropologists, technical technicians, and basic science specialists.

The aim of the present research is a critical analysis of the book ‘Family in the Attitude of Islam and Psychology’ written by Mohammad Reza Salarifar, which was published in 2004 and reached its 22nd edition by 2022. The research methodology is a combination of two methods of critical philosophical exploration and educational criticism, and qualitative content analysis was used for the purpose of data analysis. Based on the findings, the strengths of the book include formal comprehensiveness, page layout and good quality of printing and journalism, suitable book break, fluent and expressive text, compliance with the general rules of writing, brief introduction of the chapters at the beginning of the book, paying attention to the two important perspectives of Islam and spirituality. Knowledge is in the topic of family and documentary references. The shortcomings of the work are also the completion of the cover design, the lack of determining the goals of each chapter, the lack of summary of the chapters, the lack of clear connection between the chapters, the long paragraphs, the lack of use of new sources, the leveling of the concepts of Islam and psychology, the lack of attention to related schools. Psychology is not paying attention to other dimensions of the family issue and does not cover the topics approved by the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology

The following article deals with the genealogy of constitutional law in Iran from its development to the present day and attempts to review the historical and epistemological developments of this branch of law in different periods and about each other. The main issue of the text is to understand the dominant discourse of constitutional law in contemporary Iran and to examine its dominance genealogically through the analysis of the main texts and the thoughts of scholars in this field, emphasizing the focal feature of this discourse, namely abstraction. The texts of the mentioned ideas were chosen in this article in order to follow the aspects of the development of the dominance of the discourse of abstraction in the constitutional law of Iran. What is evident in the analysis of the influential texts of the aforementioned knowledge is its disproportionateness with its historical position and, as a result, the marginalization of the link between history and constitutional law. This article seeks to answer the question of how, with a historical genealogical look at the development and evolution of constitutional law in Iran, the relationship between various ideas and approaches in the development of the aforementioned discourse in this field can be analyzed. On this basis, an attempt has been made to analyze the evolution of constitutional law with regard to their understanding and their central concept in seven different but complementary readings.

This article examines the evolution of criminal law books in Iran from the inception of modern legislation to the present day. The main issue is how historical and social contexts have influenced the development of legal thought in criminal law books, with the goal of providing an analysis of the progression of these texts. Utilizing discourse analysis and context-oriented hermeneutics, the study focuses on the examination of these books in both pre- and post-revolutionary periods, emphasizing the historical and social contexts. The results of the research indicate that despite differences arising from changing political and social conditions and the preferences of the authors, the overall structure of these books has not undergone a fundamental change and the tradition of their writing has continued to this day.

While Plato chooses dialogue as the form of his philosophical works, and due to this, his works are distinct in the history of philosophy, ‘The Symposium’ is a different one in Plato’s works. This dialogue presents seven interrelated speeches on the nature of love, with each speaker contributing to the discussion and passing the topic to the next. Consequently, as the preceding and subsequent contributions constitute every utterance in the ‘The Symposium’, each utterance emerges as inherently incomplete, which invites a continuous investigation of the subject throughout the dialogue. Our primary claim in this article is twofold: first, that ‘The Symposium’ should not be considered merely as one of Plato’s dialogues but as a pattern of dialogue itself, and second, that this recognition prompts us to reconsider dialogue not only as Plato’s chosen literary form but also as a pattern of his philosophical thinking.

In his treatise on Plato's philosophy, Al-Farabi says that in Plato's view, human perfection and happiness depend on a certain science and a particular way of life. This science is philosophy, and that way is politics or kingship. Strauss, on the one hand, considers the main issue of this treatise to be the relation between philosophy and politics, and on the other hand, because he considered al-Farabi, a secret writer, claims the unity of philosophy and politics, which is stated in the treatise, to be an exoteric teaching that hides his central and esoteric teaching, namely the proper distinction between philosophy and politics, and also principality of philosophy. He considers the only relationship between philosophy and politics to be the adoption of methods by the philosopher to stay safe from social and religious persecution. Two types of errors in Strauss' reading of Al-Farabi's treatise are: first, the fundamental errors of assuming Al-Farabi's steganography as a given and making it the basis for interpreting the text, and second, the suggestion of some misreadings of Al-Farabi's statements that stem from the assumption of a conflict between philosophy and religion and also Al-Farabi's steganography. In Strauss's interpretation, the inherent difficulties of philosophy are dissolved and reduced to the difficulties of life in a political community.
