Pages 1-16
Abdurrazzaq Hesamifar
Abstract Abstract
Logical Positivism is one of the important schools in the philosophy of science and the contemporary analytic philosophy which was called Vienna Circle because of its origin as a circle of philosophers around Moritz Schlick at the first and then Carnap. The main doctrine of these philosophers was the principle of verification as the criterion of meaning and the demarcation between science and no science. Relying on this principle they regarded the logical and mathematical propositions as analytic and they considered scientific propositions as meaningful propositions. Moreoverthey regarded unverifiable propositions in 3 realms metaphysics, religion and ethics as meaningless propositions. Written by BahaoddinKhorammshahi,Logical Positivismis one of the best books in which the doctrinesof logical positivism were assessed by a critical view and it is one of the first books written in this field in Persian. After having a glance on the contents of the book, this article gives some critical points and some suggestions about it.

Pages 17-33
Seyed Hosein Hoseini
Abstract The present article introduces the book Mysticism and Logic, derived from Bertrand Russell's articles and has a brief review. After generally introducing the work, the author focuses on its advantages and disadvantages in two dimensions, namely, form and content, and then emphasizes on the article "Mysticism and Logic" among the articles. In this paper, Russell addresses the practice of mysticism in the point of view of four problems. These four problems include: 1. Acknowledgment of two different tendencies in man to know the world, namely, mysticism and science; 2. The prominent philosophers’ attempt to harmonize these two needs; The four characteristics of mystical philosophy, i.e. belief in insight against reasoning knowledge, the belief in unity and the denial of plurality and contradiction, denial of realism of time and the considering evil an illusion; and 4. The mistake of mysticism in each of these four aspects. We will analyze these topics by raising them in the present article; Russell's empirical perspective made him to analyze mysticism from this point of view, and therefore, if he believes in mysticism, he turns to logical mysticism.

Reviewing Ibn Sina's Book and Mystical Allegory
Pages 89-102
Maryam Saneapou
Abstract In this article, the book Ibn Sina and the mystical allegory and phenomenological discourse of Corbin on the Sinai wisdom are analyzed and evaluated. The phenomenological approach of Corbin in this book, unlike the subjective approaches of most Western Orientalists can open the door to a fair dialogue between different cultures, leading to a cultural-intellectual interaction that enriches the thinking and culture of both parties. For instance, this book provides a discussion of the relation between Shi'ite Illuminati rationality and Western abstract rationality, and compares the Eastern Sinai tradition with the Western Hermetic tradition, and thus examines the effectiveness and affectedness of Eastern and Western scholars on each other since the past to the present. Other points understood by the author of this article from the Corbin's book are the focus on the dialogues between Western myths and Eastern myths that give rise to a greater understanding of Western and Eastern cultures. One of the highlights of the book is Henry Corbin's non-religious look on the issue of Imamate in Imamieh Shi'ite, which can provide an excellent background for Shiite scholars to also pay close attention to world understanding in inter-cultural dialogue about their beliefs so that proper introduction of their epistemological teachings dismiss incorrect interpretations.
A Comparative Study of Plato and Rumi's Thoughts: A Critical Review
Pages 103-114
Ali Fath Taheri
Abstract It goes without saying that Plato is a great thinker who has exercised a great influence on the Western and Eastern culture and civilization. His influence goes to the extent that Whitehead considers the whole philosophy of the West nothing other than a footnote on Plato's philosophy. His thoughts were effective in fashioning Islamic gnosis. In this regard a lot of comments have been made. Yet, it should be noted that our familiarity with the very Plato is not considerable; that is, we largely know Plato through Plotinus and Jalinus. The book, A Comparative Study of Plato and Rumi's Thoughts is an attempt to bring to light the impact of Plato on mystical views of Rumi, the great poet and gnostic of seventh century A.H. In this article while introducing this work, reference have been made to certain critical points which can be effective in later edition.

Abstract Abstract
One of the issues in the way of increasing the field of study quality is curriculum development and educational content epitomized in course topics. Because of relation with two divine sources, Quran and Hadith field of study must have comprehensive acceptance to have a dynamic attendance in all of religious scopes. Achieving to this position need some inquisitives such as exact programming in both of Education and research fields. Bachelor level as a foundation of a field must be able to create necessary abilities in students. With a standard education this fact will be attainable.Critical and pathological study of course topics and education program help us to realize our goals. Lack of adaptation and appropriation of course program with course title, poor design of course objectives, course topics, resources and repetition of some topics is some of difficulties in this respect. Having no systematic view in compiling the course topics matching with third level of university (B.A, M.A, and Ph.D.), poor verification of course topics, imbalance between two fields of Quran and Hadith are counted as other difficulties in this course program.
Aristotle Christopher Shields, Routledge, 2007, xvi+ 456pp.

Hamidreza Mahboobi Arani
Abstract Christopher Shields’ Aristotle in Routledge Philosopher series is one of the most recent introductions to Aristotle’s philosophy in general. Shields’ intention in this book is not to be comprehensive in dealing with Aristotle’s views in every field. Rather, he believes that Aristotle is a highly systematic philosopher with an explanatory framework to employ in different fields of theoretical, practical and productive sciences. Hence, Shield’s main concern is first to explicate this explanatory framework and then to show how Aristotle uses it in the above mentioned sciences. Also, in each chapter Shields tries to clearly reveal how Aristotle’s metaphysics is based on his views in physics, and his views in psychology on those in physics and metaphysics, his views in ethics and politics on those in his main theoretical sciences, and finally his views in rhetoric and arts on those on both theoretical and practical science, thereby showing his system of thought. Furthermore, instead of locating Aristotle in his historical and philosophical background, Shields tries to present him from a modern perspective, justifying why Aristotle thought the way he thought about change, matter and form, substance, existence.
