In a large bibliography like those of Alessandro Manzoni each monograph presented by his philologist should definitely be considered for its "new critical point of view” with which the author of the study wanted to contribute to a series of long observations and various reflections on Manzoni as a writer and as a thinker. The volume of essays by Norberto Cacciaglia is particularly interesting for how author manages to invite the reader's attention to the new historical details of Manzoni’s masterpiece I PromessiSposi, highlighting unusual insights not always easily traceable if not through a new point of view. The work of Cacciaglia is different because of how he emphasizes the value of working and the law of the economy in the PromessiSposi’s historical society.

In contemporary Italian literature Andrea Camilleri’s career as a writer represents a successful story: in a couple of decades he has sold hundreds of thousands copies, has been translated into many languages, has won several awards, his books have been object of workshops. One of his best known works is Il birraio di Preston, a historical novel. At first Camilleri has won public success as the author of detective stories, with the police commissioner Montalbano as the main hero. At a later stage readers have started to appreciate his historical novels too, though they chronologically precede the Montalbano series. However, his historical novels are not less engaging than his detective stories. Camilleri, indeed, knows how to keep the reader's attention alive to the very last page, regardless of genres. This is partly due to the know-how gained during his longtime work for the theatre, the radio and the television, where he has acquired a remarkable experience in dealing with different texts and narrative strategies. Il birraio di Preston finds itself at a turning point in the writer’s career as regards his linguistic and narrative experimentalism, as well as the reader's attention

The personality of Giuseppe Tomasi di Lampedusa, as well as his work, escape a conventional cataloging. Heir to an ancient Sicilian aristocratic family, married to the Latvian psychoanalyst Licy Wolff at his descendant of an important Baltic family, distinguished connoisseur of English and French literature, the writer is actually an outsider in the social and cultural landscape of Italy war rather "European" that "Italian" and certainly "Sicilian." Author of one novel, The Leopard, whose premises and whose echoes and intertextual references are also tracking down the handful of stories and especially in La Sirena and in autobiographical memory, just other titles of his limited body of literature, and in this sense in fact the author of one book significantly written in the point of death, Lampedusa reworks the story of a Sicilian aristocratic family in the twenty years 1860-80, against the background of the Italian Risorgimento, his family experiences electing Sicily Don Fabrizio Salina universal metaphor the fragile and ephemeral human story that crosses the historical time. The ironic and at the same time tragic spirit of Lampedusa-Salina, the feeling of death and the intimate disenchantment with the "magnificent and progressive" fortunes in the history of man, Giuseppe Tomasi reconnects to the highest Sicilian literary line

In the panorama of comparative studies between medieval lyric literature ofEast and Latin world, one of the most striking examples that has sparked many controversies and discussion was undoubtedly the famous opus of Luigi Valli, Il linguaggiosegreto di Dante edeiFedelid’amore. This book, as the editor of Luni Publications declare, published for the first time in 1928 by the Optima publications in Rome, was integrated in 1930, by a second volume devoted to the "Added discussions and notes". The Leopard is the only novel written by Giuseppe Tomasi di Lampedusa, born in Palermo in 1896. It was written between 1954 and 1957, but it has not been published immediately, because before Einaudi and then Mondadori refused to publish it. Only after the death of Tomasi, and thanks to Giorgio Bassani, in 1958 the publishing house Feltrinelli decided to publish the novel. A second edition, "in conformity with the manuscript of 1957", edited by Gioacchino Lanza, comes out in 1969. In 1959, the Leopard won the prize "Strega". Subsequently the novel becomes a bestseller and is translated into the whole world even in Persian. Despite the great passion for history and foreign novels, particularly French, Tomasi is dedicated to fiction only in the last years of his life.In this article, we will focus on the topics covered in the book and in particular the context in which the changes brought to Sicily are developed: expedition of the Thousand and the italy's unification.

AldaMerini appearsamong those contemporary Italian poets translated into Persian. Merini is a poetess of great renown because her poetry leads readers to the knowledge of a world-wide aspect of literature. With her works, Merini has demonstrated a great intellectual diligence in the condemnation of contemporary society alien to Truth. She becomes the defender of the weak and marginalized people, carrying on this task with courage and without any fear; she tried to carry the flag of truth in favor of the oppressed. Her verses reveal a profound spirituality and also a particular aspect that has always characterized the Sufi culture and literature deeply esteemed and venerated in Persian literature. A great amount of Sufi poetry has been written in Persian and thus people of Persian culture have been fed of this kind of poem in various moments of prayer, sorrow and happiness. This research tires to shed light on Merini’s spirituality concealed in her Sufi poetry. This study is not an attempt of making a comparison but rather an attempt of analyzingMerinian poems under the light of the universal mysticism of Sufism that possesses an incomparable depth with any other literary genre. It is appropriate to put Merini’s poem in contact with the Persian Sufi Farid-adin Attar’s work entitled Manṭiq-uṭ-Ṭayr(The seven valleys of spirituality).

Italian “immigration literature” is a new literary genre witch emerged in the 1990s.The stories narrated by the migrants, in its early years, talk about men and women whostarted to live a different life in a different country with or without their own will. Through these writings we discover an unprecedented face of immigration, which prevail difficult situations, nostalgia and hope.Therefor we shall see a different side of Italy and Italian people written by immigrants who are not only concerned about the immigration’s meaning but its effect on their world view.In factimmigration motivates them to create literature and write about their homeland and difficulties of returning to her, whilst they struggle in a cultural limbo.In this article we analyze the core theme which used by writers of this genre, namely the idea of uprooting and autobiographical memory, present in the anthology Black Sheep stories.
