According to Deleuze, it is an expression of the discipline that connects Spinoza's ontology, epistemology, physics, and ethics. In other words, the logic of expression is the logic that governs all the different areas of Spinoza's philosophy, and for this reason, Deleuze named his most detailed study about Spinoza Expression in Philosophy, Spinoza. In this article, I try to have an overview of this book and while examining each section, the concepts proposed in them and the process of the chapters, how Deleuze identifies the presence of the logic of expression in each aspect of Spinoza's philosophy will also be displayed. In this way, the basic concepts in Deleuze's reading of Spinoza will be revealed. In addition, we will see how immanence is related to expression in ontology, and how Deleuze describes the trinity of essence and its results by identifying two levels of expression, creative nature and created nature, as well as the theory of finite states. With respect to physics, the body is an expression of substance, a mode that is essentially an intensive degree of power. In this way, the triad of mode expression is described. In epistemology, the sufficiency of the true idea implies its expression. In ethics, the issue is about capacity and power, which belongs to the human body and mind, since the mind and body are an expression of essence, and therefore a degree of power.

The book "Lie / Free Will" proposes to examine two key and important questions; 1) What is the phenomenon of lying and how can its functional mechanism be controlled? 2) Does man have free will to remain loyal to moral duties? In analyzing the phenomenon of lying, the author expresses his point of view from a philosophical point of view, emphasizing the consequences of an action (the badness of the result of a lie). This means that the result of a human reaction in the field of action has priority and superiority over biological neurology. What if he adopts a naturalistic (scientific-empirical) attitude in examining the phenomenon of free will: This means that he insists on the priority of biological action over the result of human reaction in the field of action. The present article, along with the detailed introduction of this book is trying to critically review the work in terms of structure, content, form, and methodology. The reviews of the present article show that the author, as a non-systematic philosopher, was able to process his main idea in a relatively coherent way; However, the results of his scientific-philosophical investigations and reflections prove that the book is caught in the trap of determinism/ontological reductionism in terms of content and method in the field of epistemological hierarchy of science. It seems that the author's integrated (philosophical/scientific/atheistic) approach carries a kind of internal logic paradox. This paradox will be analyzed in the framework of two types of criticism, structural criticism from the author's argument and out discursive criticism from the perspective of the Iranian-Islamic intellectual tradition. Among other defects of the book, we can mention its writing and editing defects.

Aristotle “Nicomachean's” book on ethics is one of his most important books on ethics. By meditating on this book, one becomes the guardian of God, in which there are no traces of the many letters of God, one of the divine religions. Given that God and man's relationship with him are the ruling spirit of all the teachings of the divine religions, and in particular the religion of Islam, and that Muslim ethicists have followed Aristotle in their philosophical ethics and formulation, this absence of the one God has had some effects on philosophical ethics. This article deals with this issue with a descriptive-analytical-critical method and has listed some of the consequences and results of formulating philosophical ethics based on Aristotle's ethics as follows: changing the subject and purpose of ethics, not considering a place for slavery and relationship ethics between Man and God, the absence of the concept of the hereafter and eternal life in the science of ethics, different views on the concepts of goodness, happiness, and virtue in Islam, lack of explanation of the place of narration, revelation, and law in Islamic ethics and separation of ethics from revelatory sciences such as jurisprudence, personalization of Islamic ethics and lack of attention to its social dimensions.

George Berkeley, an empiricist philosopher of the 18th century, regards corporeal things as perceptions or ideas (subjective idealism) from one side, and from another side, he denies the existence of material things, and he confirms only the presence of the soul (objective idealism). In "Berkeley: An Introduction", Jonathan Dancy, has tried to give an outlook of Berkeley's philosophy, which pursues the analytic philosophers' procedure, contains an analysis of the main constituents of his thought by having a critical view, and shows its prominent and weak points. The significant innovation of this book is in introducing Berkeley's view on scientific explanation as a scientific and, at the same time teleological explanation. He says that he has gotten to this point by reconstructing Berkeley's thoughts rather than just studying these books. This paper aims to evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of some authors' criticisms against Berkeley's thought and to show some defects of his analysis. In addition, the Persian translation of the book will be assessed and criticized.

"Ancient Greek Philosophy: from the Presocratic to the Hellenistic Philosophers" is a book written for undergraduate philosophy students in the United States. The author's attempt in this relatively concise book is to show that ancient Greek philosophy is not a history of disparate opinions from various philosophers, but rather a coherent line or lines of thought that extend throughout the period. Based on these lines of view, a unified narrative of this period's philosophy can be presented. The author, in particular, follows a line of thought in Greek philosophers' quest for actual knowledge and good and prosperous life that begins with Socrates and continues through Plato, Aristotle, and the late ancient philosophers. After introducing the work and providing a general report on its argumentative content, the current article reviews it primarily in light of the author's approach and goals. It clarifies its place in an undergraduate course on ancient Greek philosophy.

This article critically examines and evaluates the book German Philosophy by Terry Pinkard, translated by Neda Qatouri. The first perspective looks at the content of the book regardless of the Persian translation text and the second perspective looks at the Persian translation of the book and the translator's translation method in terms of advantages and disadvantages. In general, this book has forced the author to find a practical solution to this contradiction by presenting the paradox of Kantian reason in the theoretical field and its extension to the practical field, and the efforts of post-Kantian and post-Hegelian philosophers to find a practical solution to this paradox. To present the historical and social time in the form of the social revolution of German society in the 18th and 19th centuries. Despite the translator's efforts in translating it clearly and well into Persian, there are still some objections to the translator, such as not including an introduction to this book, which we have mentioned in the detailed text; however, this book can be useful for a philosophy student in graduate school. In this article, while reviewing and analyzing the content of this book, we have evaluated the Persian translation and suggestions for improving the translation. This book can be very enlightening and useful as an important source for the study of German philosophy, especially idealistic thinking for those interested in German philosophy.

Taha Abdurrahman is one of the modern Islamic thinkers and theorists, who wants to renovate traditions by criticizing the ethics of modernity, secular ethics and putting Islam in the basis, especially in ethics. He believes that the Islamic awakening needs intellectual backing and modernization based on a spiritual experience by passing the triple levels of reason, and on this basis, he said in the book of Rohuddin about the theory of "The empirical Velayat-e-Faqih", that is based on the mystical experience. The present article tries to review and analyze one of the most important works of Abdurrahman Religious Practice and Renewal of the Reason (1989)- and shows that the author, by not discussing the good and bad reasons, has ignored the place of reason - the single mind - in morality; and why his proposed intellectual support for the Islamic awakening could cause political and social damages.

Philosophical reflection on cyberspace is one of the approaches that has recently been considered by thinkers and is a kind of complement and even the basis of scientific reflection on cyberspace in order to be able to explain, predict and prescribe based on which. Therefore, cyberspace policy-making in Iran desperately needs philosophical attention and consequently the distinction and explanation of the autonomous philosophical approach. As in the study of cyberspace, we are faced with dimensions such as information and communication technology, cybernetics, artificial intelligence, computing, etc. In the same way, in philosophical reflection on cyberspace, these dimensions must be addressed. The work that has been considered in the book Philosophy of Cyberspace and in this article, we have reviewed and evaluated the book in order to do this important thing.

The basis of the theory of secularism is that as modernity progresses (a set of phenomena including science, technology, and rational forms of authority), the influence of religion gradually diminishes, but Charles Taylor argues that the modern world not only hasn’t destroyed religion, but also in many cases, has led to its growth and development. The book The Secular Age is a detail of his views on secularism. Taylor talks about situations in the past where belief in God was pervasive, but things developed in such a way that belief in God became an option among other options. He describes the process of spreading secularism in the new West and what has happened to religion. In this process, for the religious, "God" and for the non-religious, "reason" describes perfection. This article, with a brief look at Taylor's work, examines the movement of the West (Western Europe and North America) from religious societies to secular societies, and after analyzing Taylor's theory of secularism, critiques and summarizes his ideas.

Islamic Political Philosophy in West published by Muhsin Rezvani (at 2014) is the first book written in Persian which is presenting a comprehensive report of contemporary and especially recent western research about Farabi and Islamic political philosophy. This paper through a critical scrutiny reveals a methodological ambivalence in formation of the ideas and organization of the book, in addition to an apolitical reading of political philosophy which cause various problems in categorizing western studies of Islamic political philosophy in four groups of Historical/ Interpretative/ Critical/ Descriptive approaches. Considering the conclusion part of the book, the implicit hidden layer of formation the book seems to be the theological-ideological concern of researcher to give an apology for “Islamic Philosophy” against what he considers as orientalist attacks. This hidden agenda of the book deviates its interpretation of Leo Strauss’s reading of Alfarabi and evaluation of other Western studies of Islamic political philosophy.

They aim to acquaint academic and non-university audiences with his ideas. This work, which was published by Cambridge University Press in 2005 in the form of a collection of articles entitled The Cambridge Companion to Merleau-ponty, was translated by Ms. Hanieh Yaseri and published by Ghognoos Publications in Iran in 2012. In this article, we intended to critically examine the Persian translation of this work. Although the author has chosen a valid book for translation, the existence of many formal and content problems, such as not using uniform terms, non-observance of Persian grammar rules, and many inaccuracies, has made the translation of this work have not worthy of its original text and its content don’t understand properly.

This book is composed of seven articles of Russian thinkers about various aspects of Spinoza’s philosophy which have been written in 1920s, when the Russian Philosophers sought to reconstruct a philosophical system and there is lot of controversy among them about the nature of this system. Spinoza’s philosophical system was one of the main sources for them despite the opposite approach to this reconstruction. In 1952, The American thinker and translator, George L. Kline, with complete knowledge of the Russian and Spinoza’s Philosophy, chose and translated these articles from the different Journals of that period and published them with a detailed introduction. In this article, first, we present a general introduction of the work and its origins, then we introduce the content of each article independently and finally analyze, evaluate and criticize the various approaches.

In nine sections of this book, Vakili completes a portrait of Plato which lacks ethical and Political vices; a person who learned everything from Persians and turned everywhere against them. Vakili’s Plato is a stony aristocrat, an ambitious treacherous, and deviator of the Persian theoretical and practical teachings. Vakili introduces very historical pieces of evidence from Greek-Persian relations to validate his portrait, but after reading his book, it is not hard to say that he lacks a comprehensive, original, and deep understanding of Plato’s teachings. Most of his comments and analyses are unscholarly, and some are notoriously mistaken. Some critical points have been said here, about this amassed book.

In this article, we will try to investigate critically on one of his books titled Key Concepts in Eastern Philosophy. Leaman in this book gathered different concepts in the eastern philosophies like Buddhism, Hinduism, Confucius, and Islamic philosophy, and explains these concepts according to the eastern texts. One of the most important privileges of this book is that Leaman tries to explain eastern philosophical concepts in their cultural context, but he did not explain some key concepts in the eastern philosophies nor did he explain them shortly.

Defending the truth of some contradictions in the actual world by means of Graham Priest’s views, To Welcome Contradiction written by Rahman Sharifzadeh is rarely problematic in the appearance - i.e in the edition. In addition to some suggestions, we have evaluated the content of the book and criticized the views of the author and/or the dialetheists in some cases. We have shown, for example, that the preface paradox and some borderline cases cannot be regarded as true contradictions. Again, there is no need to accept such counterintuitive affairs as negative facts to believe dialetheism. In evaluating the logic of paradox, we have corrected the truth table for the logical negation and implication: instead of saying t = f, p = p and f = t, we must say: t = f ˅ p, p = t ˅ f and f = t ˅ p; and instead of the truth value of p for t→p, p→p and p→f, we must say: t ˅ f. On the basis of such corrections, the objection to the validity of modus ponens rule in the logic of paradox is answered. All in all, the book is a necessary one in Persian.

In this article, we will first analyze the content of the text in the book, regardless of its Persian translation, and mention Hegel's role in European philosophy, especially its role in the formation of French structuralist and poststructuralist thought, and then evaluate Persian translation. Orientalism is one of the best books in our country that can fill the gap caused by Hegelianism in the twentieth century to some extent, although the author of the book is often with his own taste and style of the important French thinker Jacques Lacan, who is part of the thought. It owes itself to Hegel, especially in the sense of "desire," and is one of the book's shortcomings. This article tries to express the advantages and disadvantages of this book with an introduction in order to introduce the author and the importance of his book for the reader and to introduce the form and content of the work and analyze the content of the work. Of course, we have also suggested some Persian terms for the Persian translation.

With this aim, I provided an overview of the editorial and publishing genealogy of the Dānešnāmeh, and then of Mawlā’s edition. I considered a number of errors and shortcomings exhibited by the latter, whilst acknowledging some of its merits. Identifying certain systematic flaws in the editorial techniques that inform Mawlā’s edition, on the one hand, and a structural mistake that has entirely ruined one of the main philosophical innovations of the Dānešnāmeh, on the other hand, I detected that Mawlā’s “edition” is an unprofessional reprint of the previous editions done by Moʿīn, Meškāt and Bīneš. I observed that the long preface to the text bears no relation to the Dānešnāmeh, and provides scholars with no useful insight into either Avicennan philosophy or the Dānešnāmeh. Concluding that Mawlā’s “edition” is woefully lacking, I suggest that it has no advantage over the previous standard editions.

The authors of the book have first studied the structure of theological treatises and the origins of Catholic theology by referring to the place of Ash'ari Kalam in Islamic sciences and its historical evolution to be able to compare Ash'ari Kalam and Catholic theology at the level of origins and problem-solving methods. The strengths of this book include: providing extensive information on Ash'ari Kalam and Catholic theology, avoiding mere attention to apparent similarities between Ash'ari Kalam and Catholic theology, and attempting to achieve a common language as the main achievement of the comparison. Some of the weak points of this book are some undocumented explanations, point to some apparent similarities between Islamic Kalam and Protestant theology despite attempts to avoid it, biased judgments, failure to refer to all sources, and failure to follow some rules of the comparative method. Some of the weak points of this translating book are difficulty in reading some passages of the text, ambiguity in translating some sentences, overcoming Arabic idioms, and their lack of explanation.

I explicate its various important aspects concentrating on its reproducing theme which is humanity, society, and their relationship with the universe within Kant’s philosophical thought. The relation of humans, society, and the universe is the most productive problem of modern philosophy; according to Goldman’s book, for Kant it is the most productive problem too. Goldman delineates how the relation of human, bourgeois society and the universe is the most focal point in Kant's philosophy, which has been pervaded throughout the chapters of the book, and I clarify it as well as Kant’s own account of the foregoing problem. Public understanding, an important subject that is less discussed in the available literature, is under scrutiny by the book entitled Science, Society, Development: Papers on Public Understanding from both Historical and Philosophical Perspectives. Using critical rationalism as its main analytical approach, the book attempts to make a correction on the notion of science in the public perspective and also about the definition and necessity of public understanding. Despite the success of critical rationalism in enlightening the public about science, this approach alone is unable in clarifying non-scientific motivations such as political and economic interests behind propagating science. To prevent this shortcoming, we could consider besides critical rationalism some other approaches which help us and the public detect non-scientific motivations and to distinguish between genuine attempts and those who look at science as a means. This paper also discusses some formative points and suggests four complementary additions to the book. Overall, the book is an in-depth and valuable attempt on this subject.

Leo Straus with his writing on Xenophon revives this classical writer’s fame and station, as a Socratic writer, in relation to Plato. According to Straus, we must see Xenophon as more important than Plato as a source for learning about historical Socrates. His Xenophon’s Socratic Discourse (including the English translation of Xenophon’s oeconomicus) does increase our knowledge about both Socrates and Xenophon; moreover, it is an instance of applying Straus’s views on reading philosophical writing by himself in his old age and maturity. Jeyrani’s Persian translation of this work is of acceptable quality. It is an original text accompanied by a valuable interpretation in the classical and modern philosophical literature. Fusus al-Hakam is written by Muhyiddin Ibn Arabi. During the nearly eight centuries since this work was written, many writers have tried to unravel its knots with their descriptions and interpretations. The book Fusus al-Hakam and The School of Ibn Arabi by Abu al-'Ala Afifi is one of the most recent commentaries on Fusus al-Hakam, which was scrutinized in the form of commentaries. In this article, we try to introduce and critique this book translated by Mohammad Javad Gohari. The present book has been written as a "commentary" on Fusus al-Hakam; therefore, not all expressions of Fusus have been studied by the author. In the present book, Afifi has tried to explain in a language understandable regarding the mystical and philosophical issues of Fusus and to solve some linguistic and intellectual difficulties of Ibn Arabi for the western readers who are less familiar with the issues of unity. Therefore, this book can be helpful in understanding the complex issues of Fusus al-Hakam. Another prominent point of this book is the author's lack of prejudice against Ibn Arabi, which has turned him into a fair critic and impartial judge in the evaluation of Fusus. The author also tries to help to better establish them in the mind of the reader by emphasizing and repeating the key topics of Ibn Arabi's view in the book, including the unity of existence, the relationship between the universe and God, and related topics.

Finding Meaning in an Imperfect World by Prof. Iddo Landau, is a warmly written book, rich with instances from the author's life, history, movies and literature. Prof. Landau attempts to offer new arguments and practical advice that make us become and stay alert to the already meaningful aspects of our ordinary lives and show how we can increase it, if necessary. He confronts most prevailing arguments in the literature that renders our life meaningless or insufficiently meaningful, including the arguments based on perfectionism, the existence of suffering and evil, death and total annihilation of our life and even the whole world and etc. According to Landau, these arguments can at most diminish the meaning in our life, not removing it. We, however, can still find many sufficiently meaningful aspects in our life which are ultimately related to the inherent value of our lives. The book, then, ends up building practical strategies to identify and recognize these aspects. In the current article, I will convey the argument of the book, then elaborate my take on the strategies prof. Landau utilizes this to persuade us that there are many sufficiently meaningful aspects in everyone’s life.

In Explaining Postmodernism book, Stephen R. C. Hicks examines the historical and intellectual roots of the postmodern movement and shows the influence of Rousseau, Kant, and other philosophers on its creation and growth. From the position of defending the West and the capitalist system, he attacks hard on the postmodern current. He considers it the first coherent and decisive expression of anti-rationalism from Kant onwards and counts for its consequences such as metaphysical anti-realism, epistemological mentality, getting the feeling in the heart of value propositions, and as a result, relativism in the field of knowledge and value and underestimation of scientific work, and etc. The present article intends to critique Hicks' views while providing a summary of his views. An attempt will be made to show how Hicks's view on the unequivocal acceptance of the capitalist order influenced his report of the origins of postmodernism and the current state of the movement, leading to a reductionist and partisan analysis on his side.
