Argument to Islamic Art is one of the controversial topics in Archaeology and art of Islamic world. Many scholars have written professional articles and books about the origin, function, cognition of art in the Islamic Period. Whatever has caused the definition differences in Islamic art due to different theoretical frameworks and various approaches have been studied so far. These theoretical approaches have been important to coherent presentation of artistic phenomena in the Islamic world. The present book is included as a source book of Islamic art cognition that it has been written based on the Historicism approach. The book has tried to show the important events from the socio-political and cultural evolutions in the Islamic world according to evidence of urban-planning, art, and architecture. The investigation of this book shows that the author has presented general landscape evolutions according to local scale despite the expansion of Islamic governments in political authority. Serious critiques include generalization and descriptive presentation of various events in Islamic world, lack of the determined approach in analyzing the artistic phenomenon, over-focusing on the socio-economic impacts on the production of objects. Finally, this factor has caused that other factors to be ignored.

The principle of information flow, also known as the exchange of information, has been recognized in the field of international tax law and tools and mechanisms have been considered for its realization including the mechanisms of tax information exchange agreements. With the globalization of the international tax law, taxpayer activities are no longer limited to a specific Border, but still the tax administration needs to be restricted to their borders. Therefore, governments need more cooperation with each other and to this end, the exchange of tax information in various forms, including exchange-to-demand, automatic exchange, and spontaneous exchange of information through the conclusion of bilateral and multilateral international treaties is possible. This article critically reviews the tax information exchange agreements. The descriptive and analytical methods can be used to enter into an appropriate document to set up the exchange of information agreement between countries with different systems of income tax had hoped.

The book Endogenous Regional Development: Leadership and Institutions examines the role of the three components of leadership, institutions, and entrepreneurship in creating endogenous regional development. The main idea of the authors is that these three elements can provide the basis for the correct guidance of the two factors of resource endowment and adaptation to the market structure towards endogenous regional development. This statement is based on facts revealed in different parts of the world. The method of the present article in reviewing the book is documentary and analytical and the purpose is to evaluate the work with an emphasis on its content critique. The results of the study show that although the concepts contained in the book cover part of the scientific needs of the country, it has shortcomings such as not testing the proposed model, mentioning indicators that cannot be measured accurately, and using inappropriate criteria in measuring is one of the introduced indicators. In addition, a precise and specific definition of the region is not given. Furthermore, expressing the experiences of different regions, which makes up a large part of the book, lacks a general conclusion.

The Murji'ah was one of the political-intellectual groups that in the first century of Islam, by avoiding judging the beliefs and positions of the active factions in the field of politics and society, entered the arena of existence in the turbulent Muslim society. It seems that the dual function of the Murji'ah in history - compromise and confrontation with the government - and consequently the two-sided judgment about them, the duality in their thought and, better, the ambiguous nature of the word Murji'ah and its specific definition of faith, that is, the two main pillars of reference thinking go back. For this reason, the term Murji'ah has been used for a range of different intellectual and political currents and sometimes contradictions, and even in the case of Kharijites and Shiites. The central issue of the present study is what the type of confrontation and reaction of the Murji'ah difference in compromising and confronting the Umayyads was? The aim of this study is to show how the Umayyads used this dual Murji'ah approach to legitimize themselves. This research has been organized with a critical approach to previous research and with a descriptive-analytical view.

The content of the book "Dimensions of the Resistance Economics in the Oil Industry" includes the text of the general policies of the resistance economy, the correspondences and statements made in this regard, the history of the oil industry, and the actions taken by the Ministry of Oil in the pursuit of a resistive economy. Meanwhile, an attempt has been made to define a resistance economy in line with Islamic economics although it cannot be proven. The structure of the book is news-based and disquisition-based and has not been used sufficiently from scientific sources. Therefore, there is no analysis of the relationship between the resistance economy and the oil sector. The above work is applicable to general information on resistance policies and some of the Ministry of Oil's programs in this area, and, despite the authors' views, it is not a complete reference in this field. In this regard, it has been attempted to briefly explain the axes related to the crude oil and natural gas sectors in line with the resistance economy and identify the strengths and weaknesses. The analysis included cases to which the book did not refer and could be used as an introduction to future research.

The book of “Sociology of Modernity, Liberty and Discipline” presents a historical-sociological narrative of Western modernity. In this book, different types of modernity - Western Europe, Soviet Socialism, and Western America - have been studied with a historical approach. The writer of the work believes that modern institutions are in conflict with freedom and discipline, and sociology is nothing more than a description of modernity, freedom, and discipline. This means that modernity, in contrast to what initially showed itself as an individual and social freedom, took on a restrictive and disciplinary character. According to the author, the most important features of modernity are the passage from a free society to the disciplinary community and the rule of discipline for the formation of the political society. The dual nature of modernism and the domination of discipline and the restriction of individual and social freedoms at the foot of the rationality of modernism have eliminated the dream of achieving true freedom. The author’s suggestion is that the new collectivization and the formation of transitional congregations could be considered a way to get rid of the discipline of modernity.

The purpose of this article is to evaluate the book “History and Social Theory”, translated by Gholamreza Jamshidiha. A general introduction of the work and a brief summary of it is presented after introducing and reviewing the necessity and background in this area. In the next section, formal, content, methodological, and translation evaluation is done. In this article, the original and translated text have been compared together, and its strengths and weaknesses have been extracted. The results showed that this book has many positive characteristics. The content of the book is compatible with basic assumptions because logically, the author has shown that history is part of sociology and sociology is part of the social sciences, so it can be concluded, like the author, that history is also part of the social sciences and is not inconsistent with Islamic values and religious principles. In terms of the volume of materials, information and knowledge transmitted, students and beginners unfamiliar with these sciences can make a lot of historical use of this book. Therefore, this book can be suggested as a source of tuition and utilization of its reliable resources for undergraduate and postgraduate students in the fields of sociology and history. The existence of more than 600 valuable historical and sociological sources in the bibliography is another very valuable point in this book. Also, the smooth and short translation of the heavy text and the main thaqil (regardless of its objection) is another strength of this book. However, the book does not match the latest headlines approved by the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology as the main book in the teaching of academic courses and is educational assistance book. The lack of result at the end of each chapter keeps the reader confused. Logical coherence is very weak in the content of each chapter and between the contents of different seasons. Eliminating some of the bugs in translation, editorial and editorial defects can add to the richness of work. Intra-modal corrections, especially for reader’s easier access to resources and to the day-to-day source of work, are fundamental issues that hope to be corrected in the next edition.

Islamic management is a science that is expected to become more operational in the Islamic Republic of Iran. Religious-managerial researchers have also done more research in this area. One of these scholars is Hojjatoleslam Naghi Porfar, who wrote a book entitled "Principles of Islamic Management and Its Patterns" in the 1970s. This research has reviewed this valuable book to examine its advantages and disadvantages. In this research, after introducing the author and a brief summary of the book, he deals with the background of research conducted in the field of Islamic management in order to critically review this book using previous research. In terms of form and structure, the book has some advantages such as using rich introductions to prepare the reader for the main content, as well as simple writing of the five principles. Considering the disadvantages the existence of writing defects, punctuation marks, the lack of information section, and etc can be mentioned. In terms of content, the book uses the method of quoting verses and hadiths to prove its content and only five principles, non-precedence over God and the Prophet, heresy, unity and harmony, management based on the power of forces and management based on insight forces are reviewed critically in detail.

Manzello’s encounter with the nature of historical cognition and the quality of its achievement on the two epistemological horizons of modernism and postmodernism in the light of the three historical approaches of reconstructionism, constructivism, and deconstructionism in the transition from modernism to postmodernism, with the subtle difference between the two concepts of "historian" and the “history-researcher” is considered to be examined. The historian who lives in the discourse space of the realization of the historical subject, immersed in modern conditions, experiences and compels the resulting comprehension of history and creates historical documents. The “history-researcher” lives in the contemporary discourse space and thinks in accordance with the structural and discourse requirements of his time and communicates with history. The history-researcher, both in the sense of reconstruction-construction and in the sense of deconstruction, presents his narrative in the light of narration and passing through events. A detailed description of the above-mentioned three approaches is considered in Manzello's book entitled “Deconstruction of History”, which is examined in both negative and positive aspects.

The late eighteenth and early nineteenth centuries were the time for the formation of new schools of art in Europe. The rise of realism was the result of fundamental changes in the understanding of the world and a fundamental revision of the relationship between man and the world. In post-labor Europe, the approach of writers and poets, previously based on reason (classics) or on individual fantasies (romantics), changes dramatically and the individual's confrontation with his surroundings became the main subject of this literary school. Realism portrayed the collective feelings and realities around it. This literary school was divided into different branches, including magical realism, bourgeois, critical, surrealism, and so on. The traces of this literary school are also evident in the works of Iranian writers. Iran underwent fundamental political, social, and cultural changes in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. Therefore, literary movements in Iran have undergone important changes. Following the Constitutional Revolution, land reform, the entry of the printing industry, translation of literary works, etc., the language and style of writing in Iran changed. Folk, fluent, simple, and humorous language replaced the court and official language. Short stories, footnotes, and socio-historical novels replaced didactic literature and mystical theology.

Although critique is the basis of personal and social growth and development, this issue has not become a dominant culture and logical process of the scientific community. This situation has many reasons. One of these reasons is the underlying assumptions or paradigms governing the scientific community. Therefore, the purpose of this article was to analyze the culture of critique and explain this culture based on three dominant scientific paradigms: Modernism, Postmodernism, and Chaos-Complexity. Therefore, the deductive reasoning method was used. The statistical population included all the books, articles, studies related to the subject, and the most possible sources were selected by purposive sampling method as samples. The information was collected by a checklist and was analyzed by a verbal and qualitative content analysis method. The findings show that Modernism only allows critique as a theoretical determination, which is a negative and superficial understanding, and incompatible with the nature of criticism. Thus, the culture of critique in this paradigm has not been formed and institutionalized. Postmodernism also does not provide an opportunity for critique. But Chaos-Complexity is a very suitable context for the formation, promotion, and institutionalization of the culture of critique. Because its features and assumptions provide a proper explanation for the concept, characteristics, and all conventions of criticism. Therefore, the formation, promotion, and institutionalization of the culture of critique requires a paradigm shift from Modernism and Postmodernism to Chaos-Complexity.

The purpose of the settlement pattern analysis in archaeology is to study the relationship between settlements and analyze the impact of environmental and cultural variables on the distribution, displacement, and evolution of the settlements and population changes over time. These studies have been developed by using combined and interdisciplinary methods. But there are some criticisms regarding the published research works on the mentioned subject in Iran, including inaccuracy of the field survey methods, focusing only on relative chronology, total ignoring of interdisciplinary sciences, satellite and aerial photos, remote sensing methods, the size of sites, taphonomic processes, statistical analysis methods, theories and methods of spatial analysis, and economic factors. Accordingly, it is suggested here that the data collection and analysis could be done by using the combined method that considers the following items: the study of historical texts, full coverage survey of the region, and attention to off-site archaeology especially in Neolithic studies, regarding absolute chronologies before going through the settlement pattern analysis, analysis of animal and plant remains, soil analysis and geophysical methods, statistical analysis, use of models and analysis of economic relations between settlements, and finally, the spatial analysis of settlements based on up-to-date theories and models.

Conceptual classification of words is one of the topics that has long been considered by researchers in the field of conceptology and terminology. The present study was conducted with the aim of conceptual classification of Persian derivative and compound words and for this purpose, 660 derivative and compound words that were extracted from the A Dictionary of Persian Orthography and Spelling (Sadeghi and Zandi-Moghaddam, 2015) by systematic random sampling have been analyzed and examined based on two conceptual classifications presented by Felber (1984) and Weissenhofer (1995). The results of this analysis showed that these two classifications are not able to cover all research data and only part of the data can be classified based on them. Then, in order to eliminate the shortcomings of these two classifications and achieve a comprehensive conceptual system, conceptualization was performed on the data, which resulted in the identification of 54 separate underlying concepts, which was finally presented in the form of a systematic classification model. In this model, all identified concepts are organized into five general groups: 1. Process, which itself is divided into two main categories of action and event; 2. Entity, which itself includes the two major categories of physical entity and abstract entity; 3. Relationship; 4. Status; and 5. Property.

Based on findings of the article, despite the merits of the book such as dealing with research questions, containing specialized exercises, referring to the tables, and most importantly focusing on the field of Persian Literature, the book has many fundamental problems, including the contradiction between the title of the book and its content, the writer’s lack of attention to the basic rules of writing and editing, the presence of confusing sentences suffering from lack of enough information, and its incomprehensibility. These shortcomings will prevent its readers from not only its full understanding but also from benefitting from it.

In this article, Richard A. Spears’ Dictionary of American Slang and Colloquial Words and Expressions is reviewed. This dictionary has been translated into Persian as FARHANG-E MARDOM by Babak Mohaghegh and Masoud Ghasemian. The bilingual English – Persian version of this dictionary is useful since it has recorded a large number of slangs, colloquial expressions, taboo words, euphemistic, and dysphemistic expressions of Persian. On the other hand, it is also really useful, and at the same time surely helpful, for those who translate from English into Persian, in finding the exact meaning/s or equivalent/s of slang and colloquial idiomatic expressions of English. In addition, the English – Persian version of the dictionary includes a long forward titled “an investigation into the nature of slang” that come like a good introduction to the field full of useful points for people eager to know more about ‘’slang’’. However, there are a number of shortcomings in the bilingual English – Persian version of the dictionary including unclear system of referencing in the forward, unsuitable equivalents in some of the entries, and lack of necessary footnotes for some of the unknown equivalents provided for English utterances.

In this article, I aimed at giving a critical position about a book, namely "statistical analysis in Scientometrics and Knowledge and Information Science"that published by SAMT Organization. The book is different from the same kinds of books on the basis of data analysis with statistical software, trying to pool probability and statistics together, maneuvering on some statistical proofing, and giving a special section on "statistical analysis". But this book have been unsuccessful in achieving its beginning claims about uncomplicated explanation and practical utilization. and a typical reader of the book in humanities and behavioral science can't understand some of its basic statistical discussions and it is usable only for statistical instructors and they may able to re-explain its proofs about distributions,, propositions, estimations and so on. it should be said that it is not a comprehensive book in statistics because non-parametric tests and some advanced tests such as ANCOVA, MANCOVA, and path analysis have neglected. its software instruction section is either a flawed section because of its excessive brief. but the books basic plan is defensible and its authors can develop it by increasing the statistical tests and decreasing in peripheral argumentation.

The book "Hope on the Threshold: An Anthropological Analysis of the Three Pilgrimages of Santiago de Compostela, Hajj and Arbaeen" by Mohammad Nasravi (1399) is one of the few works that tried to propose the idea of utopia and its related concepts and meanings, emphasizing the views of thinkers such as Weber, Foucault, and most of all, Ernst Bloch, and analyzed the three pilgrimages mentioned in the title of the book with anthropological studies, from a utopian point of view. The idea of utopia, as Bloch emphasizes, is based on the concept of Not-yet being, which seeks to contrast the realm of utopia "infinity" with the present "infinite" universe. Mr. Nasravi has investigated this concept with the meaning of the mentioned pilgrimages and in the analysis of Arbaeen, which is equivalent to Imam Masoom. In this article, with the comparative method, after presenting formal criticisms, in terms of content in the criticism of Bloch's idea, relying on the transcendent philosophy and its well-known principles such as the authenticity of existence, gradation of existence, and substantial movement, we deal with the idea that the infinite realm is not against reality and existence, but it’s the same. In conclusion, the risks of the monopoly of existence to the sensory-empirical realm for considering pilgrimage as a utopian state are pointed out, which leads to the neglect of its many aspects, including morality, cognition and knowledge, sharing existence and reality, regularity, and so on.

Although Jack Snyder is a defensive neo-realist, he has kept himself faithful to Waltz's structuralism; his big difference in this work is in his attention to the factors that were compared to the level of the international system and are placed at the reductionist levels. By combining the mentioned levels, the author presents a clearer picture of some countries' causes of war and unjustified expansionism. Among the structures mentioned in Snyder's work, we can mention the differences in the political systems of nation-states and the impact of these differences on their distinct foreign policy behaviors. The author searches for many roots of expansionist decisions in the psychological dimension and examines the possible causes of expansionist thinking in structural impositions, which, from his point of view, are not the primary cause in most cases. In the end, it is important to mention that the expansionist groups of a country often use these impositions to move towards unbridled expansionism with the use of propaganda techniques and exaggerating external risks to mobilize political resources.

In this regard, first, using the library method and referring to the works of the most important thinkers of Ordoliberalism such as Eucken, Ropke, and Rustow, as well as their main commentators, the characteristics and principles of the Ordoliberalism school are extracted. These principles are the primacy of law and legal institutions over economic institutions, the constitutive and regulative principles, the superiority of the competitive order and the superiority of a strong state within the framework of the economic constitution and the implementation of ordnungspolitik (ordering policy) to preserve the market. A brief comparative analysis of the relationship between this school and the Chicago School is presented. Finally, the theoretical critiques of the ideas and basic principles of this school and the practical critiques of the effects and consequences of the implementation of the Ordoliberal policy are discussed in detail.

One of the most famous works in Iran from the beginning of the 1960s until now is Man the Unknown by Alexis Carrel. With the passage of 70 years since the first Persian translation, the market boom of this work has not yet been lost, and at the same time, its content and function in Iranian society have not been ever analyzed. This study is the first step toward this goal. By reviewing the evidence of Iranians' attention to the book, this study aims to defend this hypothesis that the widespread promotion of the book was followed by Islamist movements as a result of important theoretical implications of the work in favor of their Theology. Followers of such movements wanted to compensate the poverty of literature and theoretical weaknesses in representing a native and modern human theory by taking advantage of Carrel's book. As we will reveal in this study, with the development of the discourse of Islamic humanities, this book has been considered as confirming the necessity of choosing an Islamic humanities instead of "western humanities".

Sometimes, not observing some essential principles affect the translation in a way that prevents the reader from fully understand and perceive the text. For this reason, the main focus of this article is on the fact that translator’s awareness of some of these principles can prevent such harm, and can pave the way for promoting the content of translations. My review indicates that the book has fundamental problems in terms of its content, form and methodology, and thus it creates problems for the students while reading the texts. As a result, this book cannot be a good source for the mentioned course, and to the best of my knowledge, there are great many professors who would rather use other resources for teaching simple prose texts. Fundamental revisions and modifications on the book are greatly advised for approaching the objectives set for this course.

This study critically examines the article "Investigation of the Establishment and Decline of Āl-Shomleh Local Government (550-591 AH) In Seljuk Khuzestan" from both positive and negative perspectives. By adopting the title of "Atabak" or "Great Atabak", the dynasty of Shumleh established a local government in important and strategic areas of west and southwestern Iran (between the territories of the Seljuq sultans and the Abbasid caliphate). It is of special importance to know this less famous dynasty. The article under review, which was introduced as the first independent research work, was a kind of the beginning of a new trend in research in this field. The findings of this research show that one of the advantages of the article under review is the importance of the subject and the effort to process the matter differently, but one can also see some formal and methodological shortcomings such as incorrect references, inconsistencies in title and content, inattention to the background of the research, neglect of some main sources, inattention to the criticism and validation of traditions, use of definitive and absolute propositions, be weak in arguments and inferences, and have errors in identifying the members of the Shumleh family.
