چکیده
(1396، تهران، نشر نی، 358 صفحه، چاپ دوم؛ چاپ اول 1390) پرداخته می شود. در دوران اخیر فرایند نقد به مرحله ای از رشد خود رسیده که در زمینه های بسیار متنوعی تأثیرگذار بوده است. به این منظور، ابتدا زمینه‌ای از نظریه‌هایی که در این کتاب موردبحث قرار گرفته و مطلبی کوتاه راجع‌به نویسندۀ کتاب ارائه شده است و سپس مروری کوتاه بر آثاری از فاولر می شود که بنیان گذار زبان شناسی انتقادی بوده و رویکردهای انتقادی دیگری را رقم زده است. تبلور و تحقق نظریات فاولر بعدها در آثار صاحب نظران علوم انسانی به‌خصوص زبان شناسی، جامعه شناسی، و... به‌چشم می خورد. این بررسی با رویکردی فرمالیستی و انتقادی به نقد ترجمۀ کتاب موردنظر می‌پردازد و به ارزیابی معادل سازی ها و پیوست های الحاقی (شامل واژه نامه ها و کتاب نامه ها) مترجم می پردازد، با این نتیجه گیری که بخشی از این ملحقات که به آن اشاره شده ضروری نبوده است و کمکی به درک بهتر مخاطب نمی کند.

چکیده [English]
This article is an introduction and critical review of the Farsi translation (by Mohammad Ghaffary, 2nd edition) of Roger Fowler’s book “Linguistics and the Novel”. It also introduces briefly the backgrounds of the main ideas discussed in the book. In this regard, a brief discussion of linguistics criticism and the critical translation are covered, with Fowler being an expert on the latter subject as well. Doing research on Fowler’s postulations can be seen in the works of other fields in humanities, such as linguistics and sociology. In this study, it is attempted to use a formalism approach with a critical point of view to evaluate the equivalents and appendices (glossaries and bibliographies) show that looking for equivalence in translations needs experts who do not confuse the readers.
