The discussion of modernism and its pioneers is not new and goes back to the origins of modernism and the mingling of Arabic culture with other cultures that affected literary criticism in the works of many authors including Hajiz, Qodamah Ben Jafar, Ibne Qotaibah, Abolfaraj Isfahani and many others. This has been analytically discussed by Hasan Darvish in his work "Alsho'ara al-Mohadathoon". He has shown modernism in different aspects of the works of poets. He has also compiled an excellent list of modernists and looked at different aspects of their poetry including the new language of poetry, novelty, structure, imagery, musicality, and intention. The voice of the author is clearly heard in this work through which he discusses different views and confirms or disconfirms them with acceptable evidence, and wherever possible expresses his own independent views on modernism

Curriculum planning in Teaching Arabic Language in Iran is very rare in comparison to it in Arabic countries. The book titled: “The Reference in Teaching Arabic to the Speakers of Other Languages” is one of the most important books in this field in the Arab World. In this article, it is tried to study and criticize this book. So, the strong and weak points of this work will be explained through content analysis, and the discussed issues of the book will be compared with the English books in curriculum planning. The results of the research indicate that the approach of the authors of the book is cultural. In fact, they could provide the Islamic-Arabic framework for teaching Arabic Language to the speakers of other languages through localizing the Western theories and methods of curriculum planning. One of disadvantages of this book, according to its content analysis, is the lack of discussing and studying the main component of “Need Assessment” in the curriculum planning, and the lack of some essential issues such as the methods of teacher training, evaluation, and the improvement of their performance.

Although more than forty years have passed since the publication of the first Edition of this book, it is highly important among the Arabic books on Linguistics. Regarding the common titles among most of the books in this field, what fortifies the status of this work is its comprehensiveness and the scientific analysis, and avoiding pure narration. Despite the fact that some other books had published after this book, they could not reach the position of this book written by Ramadan Abd Al-Tawwab. Hamidreza Sheikhi translated the book in 1988. By studying and criticizing his translation through total induction, expressional and structural comparison with the original work, the following results obtained: the Persian translation of the book, in spite of a lot of typing errors and some mistakes in understanding and transforming concepts, is generally an acceptable and reliable translation. Perhaps, the main point in this work is not translating the poetic evidence, but only in one chapter, and they left in their original forms. Maybe, the translator thought that mentioning these verses were just phonetic, morphological, or syntactic examples, and the author did not intend their conceptual and meaningful aspects. Actually, it is confirmed that the main audience of this work are Arabs or Arabic linguists, and the audience of the translation are non-Arab speakers.

Teaching Arabic for specific purposes is one of its main challenges in Teaching Arabic Language in Iran. “Teaching Arabic Language” coauthored by Faramarz Mirzaei and Ali Nazari is a textbook developed for teaching Arabic to the students of Law. The close interconnection of some areas of the field of Law with Arabic Language and the lack of diverse textbooks in this area have doubled the need for writing such works. In this article, the form and content of the book have been analyzed. In the form analysis, the book cover, typography, page layout, bookbinding, punctuations, and typing errors were examined. The content analysis bases on the conformation of contents with title, the logical order of the chapters and their discussions, the critique of the scientific content, the adequacy and fluency of the script, and the referencing. The prominent advantages of the book include the compilation of plentiful legal examples and practices, and its new arrangement to some extent. Yet, it is required that the authors revise the existing form and content shortcomings in the next editions of the book.

Ilmud-dilalah” (Semantics) by Ahmad Mukhtar Omar is among the books translated into Persian by Seyyed Hossein Seyyedi, a faculty member of Mashhad University. Considerable usage of the main and original research sources by the writer, and his command of the record of studies done in semantics in the Muslims’ old linguistic heritage have given the book a special position in the semantic studies, which makes its translation necessary. The cover design, typography, page layout, punctuations, and typographical errors of the translated book were considered in the examination of the form. Examination of the content of the translation focused on the faithfulness in translation of all parts of the book, faithfulness in full translation of the text, faithfulness in conveying the content, specialized terms, literal translation, explanatory footnotes, and the citation style. In this translation criticism which is based on a contrastive attitude, two categories of the options and limitations of the translator were examined, but the focus was more on the limitations. Examinations showed that the translation was done so hastily, and in practice just little scientific and literary revisions were done on it. It has caused a number of errors and shortcomings in this translation to be greater than the number of its advantages, and many parts of the book need to be translated again.

Comparative literature as an emerging literary field has evolved in the late of nineteenth century and beginning of twentieth century and after the first appearance in France and other European and American countries is now considered as a known and developing field in the Arab countries. Abdolrazagh Hamideh, Ebrahim Salam and Najib AlAghighi each have authored books titled “Al Adab Al Mogharen” for the first time in the Arab world, but none of these books could define the principles of this field – which was the basis of the current French school principles of that time – and give a clear definition of which and present practical comparative examples based on the model until Mohammad Ganimi Helal could define the theoretical principles of the French school and laid the practical and theoretical foundation of the field in the Arab world by his famous book “Al Adab Al Mogharen”. After the fundamental change of attitudes toward the Comparative Literature in the Occident in the recent years, some figures also appeared in the Arab world that demanded change. Abde Aboode is one of such figures. With a new attitude toward the Comparative Literature based on modern criticism and other new approaches, he writes and teaches. The book “Al Adab Almogharen Afagha va Moshkelat” not only does not completely deny the Traditional French School but also sets of for new horizons to Comparative Literature to localize it which are unique in its own right; horizons like: the relation of Arabic literature and globalization, the relation of Arabic literature and the Oriental studies, Arabic language teaching and its relation with the aims of the Comparative Literature and issues like translation and literary reception theory etc. In this paper an effort is made to consider the new horizons in the Comparative Literature and analysis of literary reception theory (as one of the most important horizon) and also some shortcomings of the book about the content and the form are also discussed with a critical view.

The Comparative Literature Book a work of Mohammad Sa`eid Jamaluddeen is a characteristic one from among subjects of such literature, published for the first time in 1990. The writer followed up French School thoughts in his research focusing his efforts on Persian and Arabic Literatures. Although this work is not that type of teaching known books but in regard to its important research subjects and because it can be used as a teaching handbook, to have an overall critical-analytic study of it, pointing out its week and strong points, may look necessary. To have this critical-analytic study over the above mentioned work, in both form and content aspects, has been included within the Agenda of Text Studies Council and implemented by referring to the work`s text and using other relevant written works particularly the Persian translation of this very work. While studying the work it was found that it lacks the peculiarities of a teaching book, both in form and content, and because the content mostly relies upon preceding Arabic resources, but having no new remarkable ideas beside the weaknesses of conformity and comprehensiveness seen in the subject-matter. The only strong point we can mention here for the work is that it enjoys having two theoretical and practical sections in its researches and in what belongs to the pivotal aspects of Persian Literature and Arabic Literature thereafter.

Abstract: Rhetorical Studies in Arabic literature have been developed by Holly Quran, aftermorphological and syntactic Studies in the Muslim world. Many Muslim scholars believe that the value of this rhetorical query is not less than syntactic studies for understanding the Qur'anic points. By this point of view they offered many studies in this field. But some big shortcomings like their focos on sintacs of the sentence mad western scholars to begin some niew ways in rhetorics studies by focosing on the field of text instead of sentence, which had switched to stablishing stylistics studies. The big question now is searchig for any relationship between clacical rhethorics and modern stylistics. In this study we have a look on the book of Professor Saad Maslooh to know if he had succed in this relationship.

fter Arabs’ contacts with the Western civilization during the colonial invasion of Western imperialist countries, a large number of intellectuals and Arab writers, before and after the World War II, were impressed by the Western advancements in various fields. They observed the Western civilization closely as successive cultural missions has been dispatched to Western nations since the era of Muhammad Ali Pasha to this day. They have tried to apply what they have learned and taught it to the Arab nations without considering the fundamental principles of the Arab nations and their Islamic culture. The book of the convex mirrors (from structure to deconstruction), by Dr. Abdul Aziz Hammouda, is a welcome step for debunking Western criticism and restoring the confidence of the Arabs in their glorious culture. The author was a professor of English language and literary criticism in Egyptian and Arab universities. The book consists of four chapters, a preface, references, and some information about the author. The print quality of the book, the typesetting, and the layout of the book are good. Its cover design comares with the firm design of the series in “the world of knowledge”. The style is good and the diction is fluent and eloquent. The book does not include an introduction to justify the production of book. The author had used all means and scientific methods common in scientific research. The book suffers from overlaps and repetitions and lacks a logical sequence of ideas, but the literary and critical terms are accurate. The book is not a methodology book and has not been written for this purpose. The book is not based a method of teaching, nor it follows the principles of material design, but it can be used as a reference source or a complement to familiarize students with literary criticism. The author has simplified the difficult philosophical concepts of modernism and make them more accessible to readers by removing the ambiguities, which is a significant achievement in its own right and other critics have failed to do.

Then, other writers and scholars have written and explained it any more but the same teachings and descriptions of Khalil. Objective of prosody learning is to sing songs, to compare the poems through analysis and evaluation to identify correct from bad and corrupt, prosody is nothing except what Khalil wrote, many authors have written prosody for several centuries based on Khalil's approach, although there are a few unstructured poems. Many poets have abandoned style of prosody introduced by Khalil, not bond to a rhythm and a definite element of prosody named free poetry in Arab literature but Nimaei poetry in Persian literature. Then, prosody scholars have been classified in several groups, some of them abandoned Khalil's style, some others including Dr. Nazok al Malaekah has summoned the poets through a book named "issues of contemporary poem" to focus on limitations of free poetry. Some other scholars such as Mustafa Jamal Al Din, in a book named "rhythm in poetry" explained more cadences of new poems as well as how and why contemporary poem developed. But Dr. Khaqani has written a book named prosodies of Khalil Ibn Ahmad in Persian and Arabic literature, has compared prosody in Persian literature to that of Arabic literature ; according to the reviews , the book is investigative rather than educational, this is to study and explain new ideas of the author.

The production of purposive educational packages which are based on learning principles and whose constitutes enjoy decent coherence and coordination are essential in reforming and optimizing educational systems and structures of any society. The importance of this endeavor becomes even more evident when it comes to teaching skills, including language silks, and preparing such educational materials creates many problems and demands investing a lot of energy and time. An acute shortage of educational materials to teach the Arabic language, either its skills or content, plus the characteristics of the Persian-speaking learners of Arabic, which shares a lot in common with Persian, have reduced the effectiveness of the existing teaching practices. Although attempts were made in the last two decades to improve the situation, seen mainly in the form of textbooks and other materials published by universities and educational institutes to teach Arabic, studying the problems and finding solutions to emolliate the situation still constitutes an important research topic. This paper evaluates one such textbook published in the recent past and offers suggestions to improve the production of the textbooks and materials to teach Arabic.

Welcoming to Comparative Literature makes it necessary that creditable writing and translating of such books should be strongly done. One of translating works in this field is A review on Comparative Literature: A Comparative Study of Persian and Arabic Literature by M.S.Jamal-aldin translated into Persian by S.Hessampour and H.Kiani. Independent, non-comparative and quality evaluation against original text shows that such book cannot be qualified to be learned to university students and also is not useful for others without reviewing and general and particular rectifying.

Hosein Abavisani** Abstract Creatin of completed book about modern Arabic poetry is very difficult because of its geographical and historical extent. Therefore every book has written in this connection has some deficiency. The “Trends and Movements in Modern Arabic poetry” by Salma Khadra Jayyusi has the historical and critical trend and geographical divisin for modern Arabic poetry presentation and for this book compilation. This matter caused to a kind of confusion and interference of subjects. Believing as true we can rekone this book as an “Encyclopedia” that has several information about its subjects. Then it can be a suitable refrence for researchers.** Assistant professor of Arabic language and literature/ Kharazmi University, ho.abavisani@yahoo.com
